Morelia's a large city, by Mexican standards - more than 500,000 people (maybe 600,000). It's home to a large university, and maybe a couple of smaller ones. I'm not exactly certain, but I think the rainy season ends in September and from that point on the weater gets cooler (particularly at night). It's been a while since I visited, so my recollection is a bit foggy. We each have our own likes/dislikes, so even though I like Morelia you might not. The large number of students, though, gives the city a certain and nice energy level. The city is also well-located to take advantage of some nice day-trips and overnighters.

Yes, Morelia can get quite cool at night in the winter, even while the days are warm and sunny. Generally winter is mild: little rain, but you do want to dress warmly. You can buy whatever clothes you will need right there --and you will want to--, so you don't need to haul a lot with you.

Travel Tips for Morelia

Touring around the Zoo!!

by Laura_Mexico

This is also a very old picture... and even though this particular train has been discontinued -- as the model isn't very fashion anymore, LOL --, there is still a train running around the zoo. It's one of the most popular attractions, you don't get to see the animals very well but the ride among the cages and natural scenarios is fun! You can also appreciate the artificial lake located on one of the extremes of the zoo park, where you can row/pedal a boat as an additional attraction as well.
