We sampled the horse back riding by the beach for P150.00--did it at sunset so it wouldn't be too hot. It's casual and an easy ride for first timers altho at times the horse I got had a tendency to go faster than usual!
BUCERIAS - Quiet and Peaceful
"But Watch Out for the Week-ends!!!!"
Bucerias is a smallish village about a half hour drive from Puerto Vallarta on the Bay of Banderas. Bucerias is popular on the week-ends with the locals living in nearby cities especially on holidays. I was there part of Easter week and was amazed at how many large families arrived to spend the day on the beach. The food venders were out in force and everyone seemed to have a great time. Despite the influx the beaches were still far from crowded and I loved seeing all the extended family members coming together for the day.
"Town was also a busy place."
The little market boomed as well as more vendors selling all kinds of food in the plazza.
"Mostly Peaceful with a Beautiful Beach"
During the week Bucerias is a peaceful, quiet village with numerous decent resteraunts and deserted beaches. There are many Canadians that live here half the year from October to April and own homes and businesses. Language is not a problem - most of the business people speak English.
More to come!!! I will be adding some tips and more photos in the next few days.
A warm ambience and decor adorn the Royal Decameron Complex, which offers spacious rooms surrounded by swaying palms and magnificent gardens. Exclusive to Air Transat and World of Vacations, its charming buildings are accentuated by a unique Mexican-colonial architectural style with vibrant hues and multi-coloured tiles and all located on the shores of a beautiful, golden sand beach.
Takes 25 minutes by taxi from airport and located directly on a long, awesome, beautiful beach. Very secure area with few venders to get your hair braided, horseback ride, sarongs, parasailing, etc. To get back to airport just ask the front desk to get you a taxi
DISCO: The Disco is open til 3 am each night, and was pretty good, they have variety shows which were excellent, I really enjoyed them
The nightly shows were awesome!
They have four pools, four bars, four specialty restaurants, and have the most beautiful sunsets.Beach:. If you wanted, you could rent free kyaks and be right beside them. The water was warm, and there were plenty of beach chairs.
Daily activity boards posted everywhere, which included aquagym, pingpong tournaments, beach volleyball, bingo, pool volleyball, etc...
Every morning, you could see dolphins swimming in the ocean

The Royal Decameron Complex is located in the small fishing town of Bucerias, which is located just 15 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta.
Scenes from the Royal Decameron Complex
"Typical Standard Room"
I don't mean to ooooh you with this first picture but this is a typical standard room at the Royal Decameron Complex.
There is a balcony and the air conditioning is great. Once again what you will find here is, rooms further away from the beach are newer and have the best air condition and from this balcony there was a nice view of the pool and much quieter in this section of the complex.
The resort web site address is:
Here is an early morning picture of the adult pool. It was very peaceful early in the morning.
It's a great time to stroll around and walk on the beach!
Here is just another picture of the adult pool. They call this the adult pool which may lead you to beleive there is extreme nudity at this pool during the day.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE!
You just won't be invaded with kids and it's a great place to soak up the heat and read a book.
"Beach Side Bars"
You will see behind me in this picture is a pool closer to the beach and a bar right on the beach.
These are both very convenient.
"Puerto Vallarta Beach"
The Puerto Vallarta Beach really is worth taking in. In the early morning the sun may not always be scortching down but it is still hot.
Walking the beach in the morning is very peaceful.
You can see here that every night the beach is cleaned and when you wake up each morning it is perfect!
"Lawn Chair Tip"
I recommend also getting your chair early in the morning and pick the place on the beach that is your favorite.
While I have added this as a tip, I wouldn't stress over it. Don't be fanatical and be there 6:30 am. Generally all day it is fine and people are always moving about.
Be sure to enjoy your breakfast at the Royal Decameron Complex. It is an excellent buffet.
This pool is right next to the beach and always has lots of activity as you can see in this picture.
I actually won a bottle of Tequila from kicking a soccer ball across this pool into a tiny soccer net. Have fun!
