View from our Hotel on the Cathedral in Tepic

I will be flying to Puerto Vallarta from Denver Colorado at the end of this month. However, my final destination is Tepic, Nayarit Mexico. About 2 and half hours away from Puerto Vallarta. Does anyone know the best travel arrangments from Puerto Vallarta to Tepic? Any buslines? what the cost will be? and any schedules? or do I have to fly into Puerto Vallarta, stay one night and leave out the next day?
Any information will be well appreciated. Thanks
I travelled around Mexico last month and was in Vallarta. The Mex. bus system is really good, with frequent buses for short trips like yours. A first class, 2-3 hour trip won't cost more than 200 pesos, and probably closer to 150 pesos. Arrive with some small bills in dollars to avoid changing a lot at the airport. Try this site (www.differentworld.com) to see if you can find bus schedules, but don't stress too much about it. If you do need to spend a night in Vallarta (a great town), contact the Hotel AnaLiz on Maderos in Old Vallarta. It is clean and costs 150 pesos for 1 person. Email is hotelanaliz@hotmail.com.

The bus station is 30 peso(< 3.00USD) cab ride away in PV, and there are buses leaving north to Tepic probally every 10 minutes. San Blas, Playa de Cocos, and other beaches are near to Tepic; San Blas in a 25 peso bus ride. Have fun!

There is quite a few street kids in Tepic, please dont forget about them before you go.
I dont like to give money to children out of fear that they are there for their parents or boss. I either buy them food, rent a room for them so they can shower and have a good night of sleep or in this case brought them teddy bears from the states.
They are so easy to ignore, but give them something, you will never forget their smile.
La Ciudad de Tepic, es la Capital del Estado. Nayarit esta dividido políticamente en 20 municipios. Tepic, su nombre procede del Náhuatl que significa; lugar frente al cerro de la piedra maciza. Se encuentra a 920 mts. Snm. Sus poblaciones más importantes son: Francisco I. Madero, Bellavista y Camichín de Jauja.
En la capital se encuentran parques recreativos, balnearios y templos con una incomparable arquitectura como lo muestra la majestuosa Catedral; así como el de Antropología e Historia, el Museo Amado Nervo y el Mueso de los cuatro pueblos, de donde se muestran la cultura de sus raíces entre ellos.
