Hi!
Looking for a bus from Monterrey to Zacatecas.
Could anyone tell me websites for companies so I can check the schedules?
I am looking for a Friday night bus.
Thanks!
Omnibus de Mexico (http://www.odm.com.mx/) has a number of buses between Monterrey and Zacatecas.
So does Transportes del Norte (https://www.gruposenda.com/autotransporte/venta.htm)
The trip is around 6 1/2 hours.

Hi Cindy,
Thank you! I just checked out your webpage...very interesting stuff. I have just moved to Monterrey from Canada for work...I am slowly making my way around Mexico and hope to visit Guanajuato soon. Thanks again! Lauren
You are welcome, Lauren.
If you have questions about Guanajuato and the surrounding cities and can't find answers in the Guanajuato forum or on our web site, feel free to ask.
By the way, Zacatecas is a lovely city. We have visited it a number of times. It is a bit chilly in the early mornings and at night, so bring some jeans or long pants and a sweater or jacket.
Be sure to take the Teleferico in Zacatecas. It's not a long ride, but gives you a wonderful view of the city. Check out the museums as well. Our favorite is the Zacatecan Museum, which has an extensive Huichol exhibit.

Lesson # 325 to be a good tourist in Mexico: When you come to Monterrey, come to the Alameda (central park) and go to the big fountain to get a picture of you riding one of these wood made horses. As you see depending your height there is a horse for you. Put the mexican hat and said: "Viva Mexico!!!!!"
35 km to north of Monterrey is Potrero Chico, neas Hidalgo, N.L. a small village where people all over the world come to climb mountains, there are a variety of routes to scale from beginners to masters
I have several favorite restaurants. Galeria del Gourmet (French), Mesón del Olivo (Spanish), La Scala (Italian), Regio (Mexican), El Portal de Morillos (Regional), and many others.
Prices range from $300 to $60 pesos. The atmosphere goes from formal to informal. All have exceptional dishes. Galeria del Gourmet: Pheasant on Red Wine Sauce.
Mesón del Olivo: Chamorro.
La Scala: Different dishes made with Pasta.
Regio: Cabrito (Kid goat).
El Portal de Morillos: Asado de Puerco.
Water fall that is call the horses´ tail. you can go and see the fall restaurants around it.
If you are more adventurous you can go up the river to matacanes or hidrofobia that are two small chain of water falls.
