Bay View Grand: Best Condo on the Beach!

If you get the opportunity to rent a condo unit in this luxurious complex, do it! We were there for spring break and the pools were populated by only a few souls. It was marvelous! It felt as though we had the place to ourselves. Most of the owners don't rent or rent very seldom. That is why there isn't a lot of the usual race to find a chair by the pool activity. Go out whenever you want and find plenty of umbrellas to sit under. You can even find a spot under a thatched roof on the beach.

All of the condos provide a great view of the beach and the pools. The condos were just completed in 2006, so they are very modern. You will be within walking distance of many excellent restaurants. See my restaurant tips.

DORADO PACIFICO IXTAPA: Right on the beach

A very nice hotel, right on the beach. Has what you would expect for a tourist hotel: bar and restaurants, a wonderful pool with a bar and grill, very nice rooms, excellent views from the rooms, etc..

Probably the nicest pool in Ixtapa.

Las Brisas Ixtapa: Your own private beach

Love the decaying charms of Las Brisas Ixtapa...even the swarms of insects that compete for my open air buffet breakfast are part of the allure of the tropics. Perfect beach, great pools, decent food, wonderful service, crabs everywhere, incredible forced cardio workouts negotiating the 8 stories of steps between the pool and lobby levels, beautiful landscaping.

The private beach is worth the stay by itself.

La Casa Que Canta: Honeymoon Paradise

Outstanding private paradise in Ixtapa/Ziuatenajo Mexico. Built high up on a cliff (this Hotel was feature in the movie "When a Man Loves a Woman"). Only has about 20 rooms, so very quiet and private. Impeccable service and food is outstanding. Salt water pool and fresh water pools that run off into the ocean.

Salt water pool, massages on the cliff.
