Great Staff

Its about 5 or 6 blocks from the Zocalo but a very clean place and the staff was very friendly. You get a free breakfast with your stay.

10 for Spirit and Character

Although there are hotels in Oaxaca with better facilities, owner Angel has infused his own personality into this place and turned it into a very pleasant place to stay. Started only just two years ago, this hostel dons small pieces off all work on its blue walls and there is a central courtyard where guests have breakfast and can have sit down to a chat in the day.

Owner Angel is truly heaven sent. The university graduates who speaks fluent English, he is extremely helpful in advising you how to get to a site by the easiest route. Angel has also recently begun a series of weekly programs at the hostel. On select days of the week, free Spanish-language classes, Salsa lessons, and movie nights are offered.

Angel is a colorful character himself, with many entertaining stories to share about his involvement in the performing arts. He sure to ask him about the time he sat inside a box in the Zocalo.

I met some of the most amazing people on this trip right here. Where else can you find a German engineer and a cyclist cycling from Guatemala to New York in the same place at the same time?

at the time of writing, a bed at the hostel costs US$10/night, complimentary breakfast and internet included.

Getting there:

if you arrive to Oaxaca from the First Class Bus Station ADO, you can take a 5 minutes taxi ride for 20-30 pesos.

Unique Quality: Directions for getting there:

From First Class Bus Station ADO.

BY BUS. Opposite the bus station find the nearby bus stop, take 'Av. Juarez' bus, and get off on the corner of Rayón and Melchor Ocampo Street, the hostel is right there.

ON FOOT. When leaving the station and getting Heroes de Chapultepec Avenue, turn left and walk to SERFIN BANK, turn left and walk towards Pino Suarez St, when getting Colón St, turn right walk one block and then turn left… the hostel is on the right.
