That is MOUNT CIMATARIO in the background. You can get this panoramic view from the restaurant of a luxury hotel for free. Rooms there are about 120 dollars per night. Cheaper hotels start at 23 dollars.

This hotel is UPSIDE DOWN!! As it is on a hillside you enter it by the top floor and the panoramic elevator does not go up, GOES DOWN! Haa haa!

Hotel Senorial: Great Location

The Hotel Señorial is in the historic district of Querétaro, only a block from Jardín Guerrero (a very nice little plaza.) It is owned by an old couple and managed by their grandson. They live nearby, and they eat all of their meals in the hotel’s restaurant. Two of the desk clerks speak some English but the other employees don’t. The waiters were very accommodating, and willing to do almost anything you wanted if they could figure out what it was.

The hotel is old (originally a military academy) and very Mexican. It is a study in contrasts: You can’t brush your teeth with the tap water, and all toilet paper has to go in the wastebasket because the plumbing can’t deal with paper—but they had wireless Internet access, and CNN on the cable TV. There was no carpet or air conditioning (we didn’t really need it) but the maid changed the sheets every day.

It has enclosed, secure parking.

I like the feel of a local hotel. When you wake up in one, you know what country you are in.

La Jirafa: Nice Hostel

While we were looking for a place to live we stayed here at La Jirafa. Located right in the Centro - super location. Super friendly owner who speaks English, and great staff too. Very clean, comfortable, and affordable. Service was great - even the staff tuned us in to places they knew of that we could consider checking out, and they offered whatever help, directions, or advice that we needed. Has an equipped kitchennette with a refrigerator if you need to keep anything cold. The bathroom and shower is agreeable although the drain in the shower sometimes is not the best, but the owner is quick every morning to have it cleaned up well. I would recommend this place in a second, and also stay there again if I should be in Queretaro again someday.

Hotel Lisboa: Hoteles

Hotel Lisboa is one of my favorite places to stay in Queretaro. Not so much because of the ammenities but because of the cleanliness and price. The rooms go for about $200 pesos (roughly $20 Dollars) and they come with a private garage with a curtain which closes to protect your vehicle from potential vandals or thieves. The garage is connected to the room so you feel assured that your vehicle is safe. The rooms are big and clean and the bathroom is very large as well. There are cable TV's and there are munchies that you can order at late hours of the night. This was my preferred place to stay after partying at the discos and I recommend it to anyone that is on a budget and wants to protect their vehicle at the same time.
