Anyone have information on how to get a local SIM card for an unlocked GSM phone while in Cancun?
I think you could get one at any OxxO store.
What is an OxxO store? About how much do they cost? Is one carrier better then the other?
It is like 7-11 and they are everywhere, they are priced from about $20 up depending on your needs.
Can't remember if there was a choice of carriers, I thought just one

I believe the carrier is CelTel...if you travel to MX often, you can just get a cellphone for down there. I got one with 50 min airtime for $40usd. that was a few years ago, but I'm sure theyre not too expensive. This way, you just need to buy airtime mins when you go, and you can get a prepaid card just about anywhere.

I am also going there this week. I leave tomorrow and they won't let me reschedule, so I guess I have no choice. Please let me know if you hear anything, but we may just have to wait and see when we get there. Hopefully won't ruin our vacations!
I loved the clubs (and the fact that I got in free everytime) I just had a way of convincing the bouncers that I really needed to dance and by my enthusiasm others would follow. (which they obviously did!)
Drink every night, take it easy during the day....that's the way to go in my point of view (unless you're in Cancun for an extended period of time)

Okey..if you ever go to Cancun you must go to Playa del Carmen, a beautiful little town located 40 minutes away from Cancun and also by the beach. This place is the best! There you´ll find people from all over the world but most of all people from Canada and Europe. This little town has a main street which is one block from the beach. In here you´ll find bars, little and cheap hotels, restaurant and everything you may need to have a pleacent stay. Well I must say that what I love the most about Cancun it´s the beauty it posses, I mean I have never seen beaches like the ones Cancun has. The sand is like powder, the water is crystal and so calm, you can just go there and chill out. Oh it´s great!
