Like all old Hyatts with the open attrium it was dated. When we arrive the rooms were not ready at 1 p.m. so we registred early and had drinks and tour the facilities. In there round building reminds me of all the Hyatts I've slepted in. They had a piano right in the middle of the lobby and my friend decided to play as the manager came by five minutes later to say it was for the professionals lounge players in the evening and we couldn't play. The staff was watching us and gather our bags to say that the room was ready and here are the keys, The room was great because of the great views we had of the Carrib. Sea. They had big double beds and adjoining rooms. We quickly changed and went to the pool and soaked in the sun. They had a good pool with plenty of activities to entertain the guess. I enjoyed the swim up bar and stayed under the water fall. Having good location was key as it was easy to get to all the bars along the strip.
Unique Quality: Old but clean and updated, great pool but the beach is almost gone due to erosion and that the hotel is at the point. (that is why we had great views)

We stayed at this hotel in may 2008, I would not recommend it if you like the beach, this hotel does not have a beach, you have access to a beach club but you have to walk bit less than half mile to get there, and it is not so easy specially if you have babies because there is no way to get there in a stroller, once you go to the beach club they tell you that you can use the beds only if you pay 20usd, they tell you that chairs are free of charge, but the chairs are at the back and you hardly can see the ocean from there.
This is not a new hotel, but it was renewed, the staff is friendly, but in general the service is not of a 5 star hotel. The food is not great, it is OK but i was bored of it the second day of my stay. The rooms are fine, we had an ocean view room, the view was beautiful from there. It has a nice pool.
Unique Quality: This hotel is close to the convention center.

Located in Cancun, right on the Caribbean Sea and in the heart of the Hotel Zone, this hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance of most things, and just steps away from shopping, restaurants and the best nightlife in Cancun. Unique Quality: The Hyatt I stayed at is circular . . . Therefore giving a great view from every room . . . Great location . . . The other Hyatt, as well as lots of the other hotels, are pretty far away from things to do so you spend a mint in taxi fares . . . Walking distance to Hard Rock and many other places . . . Great pool and swim-up pool bar

Unique Quality: Nothing special about the hotel, but it was comparable to other hotels in the area. Everything was very good, but nothing blew me away.
That being said, I would stay there again with no hesitations. Staff was very courteous.

I was pleasantly surprsed how nice this hotel was. The rooms very clean and the food was delicious. We had a problem with our A/C and they came and fixed it within 5 minutes.Would definitely recommend this hotel. It is quieter than most.
The Hyatt Regency Cancun is a beautiful hotel. I would definitely go back, hopefully for next years spring break! The food is excellent. We didnt upgrade to all-inclusive, but next time we definitely will. I never noticed any noise from air conditioner units and you can always hear the ocean. The beds are a little uncomfortable. But I heard that from everyone in Cancun, no matter where they stayed. It must be a Mexico thing. We had no problems with the bathroom, it is nice and big.
The maid service is excellent. The hotel offers a free lock box in all the rooms and I would take advantage of that. They also have towels that you can rent for free by the pool so you dont even have to pack any of your own. If I had to give you one piece of advice, I would advise you to upgrade to all-inclusive, it is only like $150 for the whole week. The food there is soooooo good, but also very expensive. So its a great deal.
The maid service was fantastic!! The promised 'live music daily' was nonexistant. There was a 'stage' of sorts...but never any music. The promised terrycloth bath robes were not provided. In room coffee was not free. I suspect the use of the coffee pot may have been free if one knew to bring coffee grounds along. No beach. True, not so far to the neighboring beaches, but as a Hyatt guest, one was not allowed to use the lounge chairs of another hotel. The view from our room was super.
Balcony was OK. The food was mediocre at best. The wait staff was very friendly. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly.
Not up to Hyatt Hotel standards The shower had poor water pressure Would I stay here again? No. I heard this comment from others as well.
