Dreams Tulum: Very isolated all inclusive

by bcorbitt

Was looking for isolated resort and this delivered. Beach was small as was swimming area as large coral area in front of hotel. What you expect from all inclusive as plenty of alcohol and reasonable food options though only couple available any night. Nothing else around this hotel as most southern resort in Rivera Maya. Close to Tulum ruins.

No other resorts close by so very quiet and relaxing.

Grand Parnassus: Worst resort ever

by bcorbitt

Stayed at this adult only all inclusive resort which I would only recommend to my worst enemy. Food was bad, drinks water down, atrium caused rooms to be loud and just generally not worth going as one should spend a little extra and stay at nicer place.

Is in hotel zone so do get access to the Cancun beach though while there surf so rough could not risk going in.

SPEED UP AND PASS THEM FAST: RESORTS

by Jawnuta

YES!!! SPEED UP AND PASS THEM FAST!!!!
Why are you spending so many hours on the plane? Why are you wasting your money on the passport? Why are you coming to Mexico if you are planning to spend your vacation in some "illusion"?
What is the difference between resort in Mexico, Miami or Sicily? A menu in the restaurant? I don't think so...Why bother traveling to another country ?
For me it is the same as trip to the mall in New York, Chicago, Miami, San Diego? They all have the same to offer,..... Old Navy, Banana Republic....
For me traveling to another country is about learning something new, meeting local people, trying new food. It is about searching for that perfect life experience. Since there is no perfect country, and no perfect place to live, maybe after visiting most of the places on this earth I can figure out for myself how to put together a perfect life.....I am being a bit nostalgic and naive here....I know. But after all I am traveling to experience, to learn....not to make my ass more fat, and not to have a maid serve on me.
So give yourself a favor, if you have a passport and can afford a plane ticket do not even think about going to one of those hideous looking (see my pictures) resorts! Please!

A unique quality of the resort:

- you can behave at the pool like an idiot
- you can wear khaki pants
- you can wear the hell of a make-up on the beach
- you can be surrounded by ridiculous semi-architecture
- you can have so much fake fluff and blink-blink around you that you will get double tanned
- you can eat Italian food does not matter in which country your resort is located
- you can get ass drunk every day
- you will never understand what I mean, and what the hell is wrong with me

Hotel Posada Playa del Karma: 100% relax

by kia81

When we start to look for an hotel in Playa del Carmen, we both agreed to avoid the large hotel complex with all inclusive formula, hotels that give you luxury services but impersonal hospitality. Our choice, in the end, was this small hotel with great personality situated at 5 minutes walking from the famous street Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue).
The staff of the hotel is very professional, infact, Sabrina and her collegues are living in Mexico for several years and they know very well the country.
They are extremely kind and they will give reliable information about everything you may need: restaurant, beaches, transports, car rentals, excursions etc...
All the 20 rooms of the hotel face the luxuriant garden and the small pool built like a cenote.
Every room seems like a palapa, the typical architechture of Quintana Roo and Yucatan. All rooms are decorated with typical caribbean handcraft and furniture.
All rooms have their private bathroom, a large bedroom with king size bed, a mini bar and coffee and tea machine. Furthermore, an hammock is provided for each room (in the terrace or balcony).
it was beautiful to come back from the beach and stay by the pool or on the hammock, surrounded by all the nature of the garden, far from the traffic of the centre of Quinta Avenida, far from the noises of the streets, far from chaos etc...Once pass the door of the hotel's reception it was like entering in a different world.

One of the unique qualities of the hotel, was the scented air in the garden. All those flowers and trees were wonderful.
Furthermore, in the hotel you can enjoy the spa and the Temazcal, that is a sort of igloo where you can do a soft sauna with medical herbs.
Temazcal is an ancient custom, used by Maya in the past to relax and revitalize the body and the mind.
I tried "Rito del Fuego", two wonderful hours divided in Temazcal, Tai-Chi massages and aromatic and spicy tea in the end.
It coasted about 100 euros but it worths!!

Gran Bahia Principe: Amazing location on the Riviera Maya

by Jefie

I don't think I could have chosen a better spot for my first all-inclusive experience! The Gran Bahia Principe is located about 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen and 15 minutes north of Tulum, so basically it's near all the attractions on the Riviera Maya. It is a huge resort divided into three sections: Coba, Tulum and Akumal. We stayed at the Coba and our room was big, clean and comfy, the pools were great and the food was excellent. It wasn't exactly near the beach - we had to walk for about 10 minutes to get there or hop on the trolley - but we knew that beforehand so we weren't disappointed. The beach was quite nice but it's near the coral reef so I was happy I had brought my beach shoes with me. The staff was great and always friendly, and they sure know how to mix a drink!

Plenty of pools, bars and restaurants to choose from, walking through the resort is an attraction in itself! You can do all your shopping at the Hacienda Doña Isabel - there are many boutiques that offer a wide selection of souvenirs, and it was cheaper than shopping at Playa del Carmen. The nightclub is also located at the hacienda. Oh, and there are plenty of adorable iguanas around!!

Bahia Principe Coba: Mexican style

by jel118981

BP Coba is part of a resort of three 5 stars hotels( BP Tulum, BP Akumal & BP Coba), it doesn't matter in which one you're staying cause you can use the services & faciliites of the others. We stayed in villa 24b, and our room was 32410, a large room with a king-size bed, sofa, balcony and bathroom with jacuzzi!!!!, I think most of the rooms are Junior suites.
Service and food are excellent.

Not only you can enjoy a wide variety of bars and restaurants, there are also a lot of installations such as spa, gym, club for chidren, tennis courts, swimmingpools, rent- a- bike...........
The hotel has the "All inclusive system" which includes all the meals, drinks, cocktails and snacks in all the bars and restaurants ( you receive 3 restaurant vouchers per person for a 7-night stay to dine at the thematic restaurants, we chose El Charro, Le Gourmet and El Pescador), as well as towel service, mini bar, water sports without motor, sunbeds, and a great entertaiment program.

Xpu Ha Palace: All Inclusive? What the Hay

by tommyathome

Resorts are not my bag. I am used to camping and exploring but somehow I decided this might me a good trip for the family. The Xpu Ha palace was awesome. It is located about an hour south of Cancun in an area that appears to be several acres of wetlands/forest. The staff was friendly, helpful and encouraged my crappy attempt at Spanish. We stayed in souped up thatch apartments equipped with a hot tub and a hammock. Food and drinks were included. Although the buffets were good they do get tiresome after a while. There was snorkeling and animals on site with lots to do. A beautiful beach. There were shows each night for the kids.

Prices are reasonable. I think we paid about 800 for 5 night...alcoholic drinks and food incluido. Kids were free.

Animals especially iguanas were everywhere. Near where the lagoon meets the estuary, marine iguanas were roaming around the rocks

sdfsdf

Playa dorado hotel (3*): Cancun hotel

by comprateur

I stayed 14 days in that hotel small but friendly straight on the sand beach without rocks who is not case of some big hotel in the center of the hotel area.
I appreciate the fact that every night the animation staff where taking us to a night club with free transport of course you have to pay for the night club entrance.
The bed were big enough for 4 people, the room very clean and nice.

DIAMOND PLAYACAR RESORT

by Helga67

This exclusive beachfront resort is located near the quiet Mexican village of Playa del Carmen, 40 miles south of Cancun.

As this is an all-inclusive resort, meals snacks and drinks are unlimited.
There are three restaurants (buffet, Italian and Mexican) and a snack bar at the pool.
At night there is entertainment or you can go to the discotheque.
I liked the two pools with pool bar. It's nice to drink your cocktail from a bar stool in the pool.
