The view from our balcony by cyndyj1 We went to Cozumel without hotel reservations - it was the low season and we wanted to check out accommodations in person before choosing them. I had a list of several to look at. We chose El Marques for its location (1/2 block off plaza and one block from oceanfront - although there is no beach) and the price - under $30 a night with airconditioning and a small refrigerator. They gave us a 10% discount because we stayed seven days, and the family that runs the hotel was extremely helpful. Downstairs is a car/moped rental company.
Proximity to the plaza, where there were restaurants, shopping, lots of people to talk to, and live music almost every night was the biggest plus. The hotel is nothing fancy, but it was clean, with daily maid service, had a nice tile shower, air conditioning, two beds, a small balcony, a refrigerator - we found two grocery stores - one by the plaza and one on the main street going down towards the museum. The back of the hotel from the beach by Avryle Lovely hotel with its own private beach- great for swimming or just laying out while a waiter gets you a Margarita. If swimming in the gorgeous warm turquoise bay is not your style, there is also a heated pool and spa overlooking the beach. All rooms have a private balcony or patio with a fantastic ocean view. Many tours will pick you up at their private dock. The hotel is a few kms out of town which may be a hiderance to some, but taxis are available around the clock. -just watch out for the big king daddy iguanas that seem to be everywhere!
Private beach, beautiful views, pool, spa, not in town but close enough so its still accesible. Basic clean hotel. Most people who stay here are divers so that's all they're asking for.
Fairly basic but with pool room, pool and a bar downstairs. Located right on the main plaza so you're close to all the action. My room overlooked the plaza and I would sit on the balcony and just people watch. Ask for room with balcony, it's great for drying your wetsuit. The shops are right outside your door. by travelgirl3 We really enjoyed everything about this resort. It wasn't overly large, but had all the facilities close at hand. The rooms were housed in individual 2 level cottage-like buildings with 8 rooms each, 4 on each level. The villas ran down either side of the property, connected with concrete walkways which were beautifully landscaped. The Pool and bar areas were in the centre, stretching towards the ocean. The privately owned dive shop located on the beach offers both scuba and snorkling excursions. We went out one day, and hubby dove, while I snorkled around, (always within 10 feet of the boat!)
As the resort is located on the western side of Cozumel, it was a perfect spot for magnificent sunsets. It is also a few miles south of town, and is more secluded that many of the hotels in town. by Thestumps The CASA MEXICANA is centrally located and easy to walk around the town of San Miguelito. One block from Senor Frogs, and two blocks from PUNTA LANGOSTA. You can see the cruise ships from the hotel balcony. Their breakfast buffet was clean and abundunt. It looked good, it felt good and tasted even better. No complaints.
Pool inside the lobby and bar. Very outdoor beach look but elegant. Very unique. We started our stay on a good note. Our room was ready as soon as we arrived. But it was not the room that we had reserved. We were given a room with 2 double beds rather than 1 king. We were so happy to get into the room early, we figured that we would move later on. But it went all downhill from there. The service was horrible.. we were either ignored or given such a feeling that we were a bother. The rooms were decent, but the lacking mini fridge was disappointing, considering the price of the room. The few times that we ate on site were nothing to write home about.. but that is to be expected from hotel food. The dead tarantula on our balcony was a welcoming sight. As was the shower that leaked water all over and radiated between scalding and freezing. The a/c was worthless during the day, but seemed to kick in late in the evening. But.. we were here to dive.. not to hang out in a hotel. I was just surprised at how shoddy the place was for the price that we paid.

Sunset view from room at Plaza las Glorias by HouFelix Probably not the poshest address in Cozumel, but probably 4 star, and within easy walking distance to downtown San Miguel and the municipal pier. Diving available on site. All the rooms have an ocean view. I won't stay anywhere else.
Great spacious rooms with kitchenettes. A large new market directly across the street. Dive shop and restaurants on site. Great atmosphere, and easily accessible to just about everything without needing a taxi. Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: On the waterfront a mile south of municipal pier.

by ajwalks I highly recommend renting a house for the week as we did, La Casa de Iguana. I believe we paid $3000 for the week, but between 12 people, it was a deal!
The house slept 12 comfortably, had a private saltwater pool, beach, and private access to the ocean. Inside, the house had AC, DirecTV, maid service, and plenty of ammenities. These three hotels are great! Coral Princess has the best staff Humberto and Pedro the bell boys are friendly and remember you year after year. It is a quiet hotel and has the best snorkeling out front of any hotel I've stayed at. Presidante has a great breakfast buffet and nice beach also good staff. Cozumeleno is an all inclusive great for families. There are tons of activities, great drinks, and good snack buffet over lunch. The hotel is gorgeous large rooms in the old section. The pools are beautiful and the beach is good but get out early to claim a chair. The staff at the dive shop are excellent! The night time meals are not the best at Cozumeleno. All 3 of these are good choices. Theme: Hotel
