 | La Casa de los Suenos: Complete rip-off, with Noise & Construction

We arrived at this beautiful location only to be immediately confronted with a giant construction project to the left. 14 workers with chain saws, concrete saws, and skill saws, constantly destroying the mood. All starting at 7:30-8 am. Ranchero music playing on the boom boxes competed with the subtle Enya music playing throughout the hotel speakers at the pool. We tried to endure for two days, with increasing frustration...especially at the $350 price tag being charged. We finally decided we needed to get out of there and the staff was not helpful in either negotiating a solution or helping us find a new place to stay. This was a trip we had planned and looked forward to for 6 months. The disappointment is still with us. Obviously, we would not recommend this hotel until they have some fair advertising or close down during the construction.
All that is memorable, after a ruined stay, is the noise, construction, and the feeling of being entirely ripped off. Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: most expensiveDirections: Near Garrafon

This place is AMAZING! We stumbled across this hotel by accident in our golf cart, and let me tell you, we didn't want to leave. We were lucky enough to get a room as there are only eight rooms I think, each one unique. All look over the crystal clear water, the pool, and the dock way down below. The hotel is up on a hill across the street from the water. Roberto is your host, (he runs it with his sister, who we didn't meet). And you can have a cocktail with him every night watching the sunset. There is snorkling, kayaking, and above all...tranquility! This place should be called a wellness resort rather than a hotel. And yes, there is a spa on the grounds.
There is a wonderful restaurant on the water that is part of the hotel, it blends asain and mexican foods, and is great! Everyone there is very friendly and the other guests we met had been coming there for years, from around the globe. Definitely check this place out.
