Elements of the Island: Beautiful, Simple, Luxury

We LOVED our stay at Elements. Cesar and his lovely wife Lisa have built a beautiful 3 room inn. The rooms are studio-apartments. The hosts are warm, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and serve delicious breakfast (not included in the price) in the small Cafe'.

Unique Quality: Beautiful color schemes. Shady garden and terrace patio. Cool white walls, lots of windows, tall ceilings, hardwood furniture. Simple elegance. Yoga classes offered on the 4th floor under the cool, thatched roof palapa.

Hotel Baron: Nice and peaceful in isla mujeres

I think this is one of the best hotel from the island. It has a vreege and cookingpossibilitys in the room. Besite that it's away from the terrible noicy streets. So a good night sleep is possible there. The Owners, Richard Baron and Sharon are very friendly persons. Always in a good mood and the make you feel at home at there hotel.
If you go by the boat from Cancun you can see the hotel at the left when you are still at the boat.

Unique Quality: The price is good for what you get. Around 30 dollars a night. Opposite there is a very good restaurant run by a mexican famely. And next to it there is a ahop from the marine base where you buy very cheap all kind of thinks.
The hotel is also very good secured. In the morning you cab sit on the balcony with your own made cafe!

Snta Jorge: clean and airy...

I loved this place which was faily new. Our room was painted a bright yellow with 2 double beds and hot water. (always a plus in my book) The cutest happiest guy worked downstairs..."anything you want" seemed to be his motto..very accomodating. We had a room on the 2nd floor, which opened onto an open terrace. The balcony on the front side had little cafe tables and chairs that could be used by any of the guests.
The only downside to this place was that it backed up into Coconuts bar. The salsa music I didnt mind, because I was typically in the bar at this time dancing ;P, but after midnight the pulsating techno started in. So, this you may not mind! But, I won't complain too much...$27 isn't too bad of a price for Isla.

Unique Quality: clean, nice balcony, friendly staff

Hotel Posado Del Mar: Not what it seems

Isla Mujeres.
The picture on the internet must have been taking when the place was new because it looked nothing like it did online.
Our room ended up being on the third floor. We had to lug 4 suitcases and 2 carry ons up the stairs. Oh a boy from the hotel helped us carry 1!
Then we get to our room where we can't wait to see the ocean view so much advertised.
My 8 yr old son opens the balcony curtain and says "Wow this is a lovely view of PALM TREES!! It was true you could not see the ocean at all.
The room was nice and clean and the AC worked good but our room door was a vented wood door that could have been pushed in with a light push so everytime we left we worried about our stuff.

Unique Quality: Cheap! $54.00 a night.
The pool was clean but again did not look as inviting as the internet ad.
Their bar was nice.
Their restaurant was good but we prefered to eat the cheaper local food.
Being in Isla made it all worth it.

Pok nah hostel: Camp out

At the pok nah hostel you can pitch your tent in the backyard for almost no money.
I love sleeping underneath a palm tree.
This is one of the most relaxing ways to spend the night.

Unique Quality: Cheap freindly and right on the beach
