Very Reasonable Accommodations

Condo rentals. Great for groups and or families. Each unit is privately owned, so each is uniquely different from the others. Some units have satellite TV, and others are limited to VHS and DVD players. The main office has a very large (and eclectic) selection of movies you can check out and watch in your room. Most units have 2 bedrooms and make for a great way to save to money if you’re traveling with kids or other couples. Bottled water is provided complimentary in each unit, and maid service comes by every day.

Most units have full kitchens, so do yourself a favor and walk into town to one of the markets and load up on breakfast foods, snacks and beers.

Some rooms are nicer than others, and if you have specific needs, make sure you address those when you book your unit (IE: not all units have king beds).

They have a nice beach and pool available to guests. There’s a restaurant/bar by the pool and everyone who works there couldn’t be any friendlier. Most of the staff speaks enough English to get you where you need to be.

Prime location on the beach!

These self-catering apartments are all privately owned, and you can really make yourself at home here.

Unique Quality: The condos are located right on the North Beach, which is the best beach on the island. The swimming pool has a bar, and when you are sipping your cocktails while sitting on the bar stools submerged in the pool, you really feel that you have arrived in paradise!!

Nautibeach Condos

The Nautibeach is walking distance to everything in the northbeach area. All of the condos are two bedrooms and ocean facing. The pool area looks great and the restaurant was wonderful. It has it's own beach area and even a private parking lots for your golf cart.

Unique Quality: Ocean front and on the north beach.

More about Nauti Beach Condotel

Go for sunset and dinner!

by cjpindc about Sunset Grille

The Sunset Grille is under a palapa on the north beach with a great view of the sunset and also the Avalon. The restaurant is attached to the NautiBeach condos and pool area. We sat on the beach surrounded by tiki torches and palm trees. The sunset was awsome! A three piece pickup band played Neil Young, Van Morrison, and some other "oldies" in the background. It was truely a memorable night. The food was very good and the desserts were the best we had on the island. The men had cigars after dinner and then we all danced under the stars on the beach at the oceans edge. I don't remember what I had! It must've been good though or I would remember what it was. My husband had a steak and then we all had coffee drinks such as Baileys and Coffee. My father in-law had a flaming brandy coffee drink that looked very dangerous.

Isla Mujeres

by brosna

One of my favourite places on earth... Ironically called "Island of Women"...!!! Those who know me know why it's ironic!!

Anyhoos... this island only measures something like 4km by 0.5km (ie. tiny!), but it is one of those places that will draw you back again and again. It is located 8km off the coast of Cancun, and therefore you need to get a ferry across from the mainland.

If you're staying in Cancun or coming directly from the airport, you need to get a taxi to Puerto Juarez, which is only about a USD40 cab ride from the airport and takes about 30 minutes. Ferries leave usually every half hour, cost about USD5, and the journey only takes about 15 minutes.

Upon arrival on the island, you are likely to be met by many men trying to help you with your bags and to bring you to your hotel. Assuming that you have already booked a hotel, it is very likely that you will be able to walk there in less than 5 minutes - but if you have not already booked somewhere, then these guys can certainly help!! It is one of the few places in the world where I would actually trust these touts. In fact, I found out about Nautibeach (see below) through one of these guys as we hadn't booked accommodation before arriving!!
Either way, they are an inexpensive way to transport your bags to the hotel... it will allow you to enjoy the scenery, absorb the atmosphere, and avoid lugging bags around in the heat!
