I just have one tip for you. Have a great time!!! Whatever you choose to do in Quinta Roo, I know you'll have a blast. Everyone I know who has ever traveled here has had a fantastic time, no matter how they choose to spend their time. So the big tip of the day is ENJOY YOURSELF!
Mexico Travel Adapter
by LiamJackson10
Just remember if your going from the UK to take a UK to Mexico Travel adapter weather its so you can charge your camera up or phone etc. Our room didn't have any and the hotels prices for one was around £10 more than we paid in the UK. We took 2 with us which did the job.
Senior Frogs
by Blatherwick about Senior Frogs
If your in a tourist town in Mexico there is bound to be a Senior Frogs around. Playa del Carmen is no different. In daytime it's a restaurant, and in the night it's a place to party. The waiters do their best to entertain and there are lots of contests going on. Although it isn't as crazy as Cancun's may be, it's still a fun place to go. In Mexico? At Senior Frogs?

Really Different
by whitneyone about Esperanza
My boyfriend found mention of this restaurant in a book called "yank in Yukatan" published in the 60's. He was stoked that we drove by it and had to stop and show it to our waiter and the owner who wanted to copy the pages to frame them to hang in the restaurant. We also needed a beer. The following day was our waiters birthday and his mother in law had cooked him a huge traditional tamale pie (in a buried pit!) He gave us some on the house and gave us some to go too. That was so nice....and it was so good!
update
Sorry this restaurant is now gone. Not a trace left of it. This was about the best Ceveche I've ever had. A huge order for 8 dollars. Miixed seafood with an incredible amount of delicious shrimp. We also split a dinner of Poc Chuk, which was a mixed plate of mexican style pork. Very very good. This is not a bustleling place. It's on 307, and if you are heading south it is just before Xel Ha on your right hand side. It's a huge palapa style restaurant and everything is made fresh...it DOES take a while to get your order, but it was worth the wait.
Updated 2007==sadly this restaurant became history with Hurricane Wilma
