Casa Tucan...the place to be
We stayed at this hotel on our last three days in Playa...we wanted to save a little money and get off the main strip a bit, so we selected this hotel from a Fodor suggestion. We were pleasantly surprised...for about $40 usd we had a nice, clean, big room, the staff was friendly and it was a great place to stay. It is not the Ritz Carlton, but if you are looking for a safe, inexpensive, friendly place...this is a good choice. It is walking distance to 5th avenue and the beach. The staff was very helpful. We didn't have reservations but were still able to get a room.
Unique Quality: There is a pool and the rooms are large. They have a inexpensive and nice on-site restaurant and internet access. The staff will provide tips for the area and they can arrange tours. There is a safe for your valueables and it is walking distance from the bus station.
