Anyone been there after Emily. How are the repairs going, especially to Catalonia, supposedly now re-opened.
The Catalonia was completely smashed up. I saw the photos and they were horrible. I stayed last winter at the Catalonia for a week and loved it--the grounds were beautiful and immaculate. I had heard rumours of it not officially opening until October 1. The majority of the damage was to the roofs. I have seen Mexican construction workers build an entire hotel in a week--so if they say it's open and operational, I would tend to believe them.
Ok, so the principal language in Mexico is Spanish, however it is called Mexican Spanish as some of the words and the dialect is slightly different than Spanish.
Dont fret if you dont speak the language, their English is very good, but they do appreciate it if you try a little.
I bought this Rough Guide to Mexican Spanish, it came in really useful.
