Conveniently located in the Historic Center

The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the cathedral and Plaza de Armas. However, it is located on a very busy street, so be sure to ask for a room away from the street or one that overlooks the pedestrian-only street (Zaragoza) on the east side of the hotel.

It has a restaurant in the lobby that serves simple, inexpensive meals throughout the day. Supposedly, there was room service available from this restaurant, but the room phone did not work.

The lobby of the hotel is spacious and has an impressive staircase on the back wall.

The desk clerks were very helpful and told us some history about the hotel and the city. They also suggested some interesting sights to see in San Luis Potosi.

The rooms were good-sized with high ceilings. The rooms on the street have tall windows that open onto a balcony. However, one of the room's three beds (two double and one single) was directly in front of the windows, so we could only open the windows a little...not enough to stand on the balcony.

The bathroom was adequate. There was plenty of hot water. The towels were small and rough.

The beds were fairly comfortable, though the pillows were very thin. We had to use the bath towels as well as sweatshirts under the pillows in order to support our heads.

There was a ceiling fan, color TV with cable (no remote), and a closet.

The rooms that face the street with traffic look directly into some offices on the other side of the street. The curtains over the windows were very thin and did not completely cover the windows. We could look at the office workers and they could look at us, which meant we had to change clothes in the bathroom and nap in the afternoon with the windows closed.

We felt the hotel was overpriced.

Unique Quality: It is very close to the parks, churches and museums.
