Culiacán
This is a nice modern city. Here is the cathedral, on Obregón Avenue.
You must visit La Lomita (the Small Hill) for a great panoramic view of the city and the whole valley.
I came here often as a kid for Christmas. My only memories were my grandparents home and my cousins yard. There was an arrallan tree (tiny yellow fruit), we gathered the arrallanes, made some newspaper cones and sold the fruits, just one peso a cone. That was my second and last time as a merchant! (the first was when I sold my rabbit pets, I was 3 years old)
I didn't come back for 20 years. This time it looked completely different and, of course I remember a lot more things.
Some of my ancestors were from nearby towns. Many relatives of mine live here.
This is the Mega Bandera (Mega-Flag) in the banks of Tamazula river. Several Mexican cities have mega-flags on flagpoles of 100 meters (333 feet) tall.
