Tufesa seems to run primero clase buses between East Los Angeles (or downtown Los Angeles) and Los Mochis. It seems in some ways a better way to go back and forth since there's no good direct air. Does anyone have any experience with it? Travel times? Meal stops (I hope, i hope, i hope, etc.

I had never heard of this service but it sounds like a great way to get to Los Mochis. Can you tell me what the price is for a round tripticket and any info for Tufesa. I would really appreciate it. If you do end up taking this trip please let me know how it went.

Travel time is 21 hours; leave downtown LA at 7 PM arrive in Los Mochis 3PM next day Mexico time.
Wow, Thank You soooo much for the info. Flights to Los Mochis are pretty expensive,plus its not direct, so this is a great way of getting there without the cost and hassle. I guess you still have to do a customs stop in (if I remember correctly) Sonoita? But, still not bad.
stay one night at 2200m in one of the friendly inns...
don't forget:only the train reach the village...
you discover there a prodigious landscape on the "barranca del cobre" :a 50km length
ravine and hundreds of meters deep.digged by urique river...
1you reach los mochis easily with daily regular flights from mexico and guadalajara
2.the train leaves los mochis station
daily at 6 am
3.to enjoy the spectacle,sit down on the right side,facing the engine
4.better travelling from los mochis than from chihuahua:you beguin with the most spectacular and interesting part,between los mochis and el divisadero.
5.if possible,stay one night in el divisadero,and then come back to los mochis.
nothing special between el divisadero and chihuahua:rather monotonous...
and you enjoy once more your way back...
6.enjoy your travel through sierra madre
