More about Casa De Leyendas
Most amazing Bed and Breakfast in Mexico!
Upon our arrival at the Casa de Leyendas we were met by the most amazing hosts. Glenn and Sharon showed us our room, with all the comforts of home, and then served cervazas on the patio.
The ambiance at Casa de Leyendas is remarkable, they have done a wonderful job preserving and enhancing old Mexican architecture with both antiques and modern day comforts.
Our hosts were extremely helpful at acclimating us to the Centro Historico area of the city. They introduced us to the best restaurants, art galeries, sites, etc., so that we were comfortable exploring on our own.
Glenn and Sharon were not only generous with their time but also very generous with their friends. We enjoyed happy hour and dinner with a diverse group of wonderful people. We can't say enough about this place, and can't wait to go back!
Home from Home in Mazatlan
We stayed at Casa de Layendas at the beginning of February 2006 and were immediately made welcome. This friendly atmosphere continued throughout the stay, Glenn and Sharon even taking us to the local 'Canmexican' bar on the first evening. Glenn also delivered us to the bus station and returned with the camera inadvertantly left in the car (thank you Glenn). Unfortunately the camera was not digital so we have no photos to share of this beautifully restored 'bed and breakfast'. However these can be viewed on their website -------------
Incredible time at Casa de Leyendas
We stayed at Casa de Leyendas for a week (just came home this morning) and had a wonderful time, due to the incredible hospitality of our hosts, Glenn and Sharon, the amazing Mary, Frankie, Markie; the spacious and beautiful house, amazing breakfasts, tours, dinners with our hosts and friends.
Wow! I can't say enough about this experience. The Casa is very well located across from the art museum, three blocks to the square, one half block to Olas Altas beach, great shopping nearby, wonderful restaurants (too many to try). If you like historic Mexico you will love the area and the B&B.
The beds are really comfortable, a real plus, and the home is very large and comfortable -- many outside areas in which to relax. You have to see this place to believe it! And I have never felt so at home before. Highly recommeded.
First of all I must apologize for not doing this the the minute we go home. Sharon and Glen are the best host you will ever have. They have a beautiful bed and breakfast and share it with their guest so graciously.
The rooms and private baths are fabulous and there is plenty of room in the house to be comfortable and very relaxed.
We enjoyed our stay immensley and can not wait to go back.
We loved Casa de Leyendas. This was our first time in Mazatlan and we will definitively be back.
Glenn and Sharon Sorrie have done a beautiful job renovating the building and incorporating modern amenities while maintaining the historic features and character of the house.
Centrally located in the Centro Historico de Mazatlan (Mazatlan’s Historic Center), everything we were interested in was within walking distance. Many excellent restaurants, the Mercado, the Cathedral, the beach and several plazas were just a few blocks away. The Golden Zone, Mazatlan’s tourist strip is also a short cab ride away.
In addition to its centric location and the nice facilities, the feature we enjoyed the most at Casa de Leyendas was the treatment we received from Glenn and Sharon. They are very proud of their place and it shows on everything they do. We were treated as family and they went out of their way to make our stay memorable.
Mi Casa, Su Casa
Casa de Leyendas felt like a second home for my mom, sister and I. Glen and Sharon did a wonderful job in restoring Casa de Leyendas to an elegant, Mexican hacienda with modern facilities. The bedrooms are each individual with different character and very nice modern washrooms. The beds are extremely comfortable. There are lots of common areas to sit and relax, watch a movie or call home to Canada or the States.
Glen and Sharon were excellent hosts and went out of their way to make our vacation a special experience. The open atmosphere fostered some friendships with some of the other guests that we’ll have for a long time. Since the three of us don’t see each other that often, we had a great time, laughing and telling stories whether by the pool in the courtyard or upstairs on the terrace over looking the ocean and central Mazatlan. We had great sleeps in the very comfortable beds and woke up to Glen cooking breakfast. I think my favorite was Glen’s warm banana nut pancakes, though Mary’s smoked marlin was a close second.
Glen and Sharon spent some time finding out what we wanted to do and places we wanted to see. Sharon booked us pedicures and massages and helped us find some unique Mexican shops. They also guided us to some of their favorite restaurants, taco stands and cantina’s.
The location of Casa de Leyendas in central historic Mazatlan was a big draw for me. It is ½ block from the ocean and beach, while only 3 blocks from the Plaza Machado. Plaza Machado is an area of town which has been restored and where you can see part of real Mexico. The restraurants are great and the atmosphere warm. There are neat little art stores in the area where you can get some local art or jewelry. Plus the local central market is near by. Casa de Leyendas is also only ~10 blocks from where you catch the local small boats to ferry you across to Stone Island. Casa de Leyendas is not in the main resort area, “The Gold Zone”, but is only a 10 minute pulmonia ride away.
I can’t wait to go back!!
more botique hotel than B&B
We stumbled upon Casa de Leyendas quite by accident when it was recommended after we were unable to get a certain hotel reservation.
What tremendous luck. This is simply an outstanding B&B.......more small hotel than a real bed & breakfast. It's location in the Centro Historico in Mazatlan is perfect & the ambiance is w/o compare. The rooms are spacious with huge & accomodating bathrooms. Many great public amenities & the owners & hosts are more like your next door neighbors than someone you're paying for a stay.
Extremely reasonable in price & the breakfasts are great. I cannot recommend this wonderful place enough.
Great Place to get away
This is a wonderful place to get away. The Casa De Leyendas Bed and Breakfast is clean and there's plenty of room to either be alone or enjoy the company of other guests. There's more than one patio and at each one your able to enjoy a different view. We especially enjoyed the patio that overlooks the ocean. It's breezy and comfortable. Glenn and Sharon make perfect hosts, always helpful and fun., the breakfasts are wonderful and never seem to have the same thing twice. They have many great places that they recommend for eating, shopping or just hanging out.
We will be sure to recommend to our friends and will plan to visit again!!
Glenn and Sharon Sorrie are great hosts. The margaritas were ready as well and the chips and salsa when we arrived. The room was decorated in native Mexican and very comfortable. Great bathrooms with large showers. The courtyard is the gathering place for most of the guests because of the beautiful flowers and pool. Good authentic mexican breakfast and you're ready to go. Just walk across the street to the beach or shop in the many stores nearby.
We will definitely return, hopefully next spring. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Loved it!
