Sleeping on the dunes
After the first night in the tent, we decided it wasn't worth the hassle. The rest of our trip, we laid a poncho on the dunes and slept just off the beach under the stars. You can't beat the scenery or the price! This campsite was at Catch 22 Beach on Los Algodones Bay.
You can see we built a fire on the dunes to cook steaks, we bought beer at a grocery store in Guaymas, and we brought our own water for drinking and cleaning.

Tent on the Dunes
Our first night in San Carlos, we chose inexpensive accommodations. We threw a tent out near the Catch 22 Beach along Los Algodones Bay and slept there. It was good and quiet, but we realized we were in a low, wet location so we moved to the top of the dunes for the rest of our visit...just in case it decided to rain!
