Taxi fare from Hermosillo to San Carlos
I understand you can take a taxi all the way from Hermosillo to San Carlos. ABout how much would that cost? Would you need to book in advance since it is such a long trip?

It will be a bit expensive (for me, its a very unusual way to get there)
I supposed you are arriving at the airport, right? if thats the case the airport taxis usually charge more than a city cab, i'm thinking about 100 usd or so, a city taxi would probably charge 70-80 usd after the arangament.
You dont need to book in advance.

Yes we are arriving at the airport and trying to find a way to get to our friends in San Carlos. I know there is a bus that goes that way, but I wasn't sure how far the bus station was from the airport.

I know it's a bit late to answer this, but in case someone else is wondering:
the trip from Hermosillo to San Carlos is about one hour twenty minutes in car (133 km). Hence, taking a cab doesn't seem like a good option to me.
The cab can take you to a bus Station; La Costa (a bus company) has buses leaving almost every two hours to both beaches (Kino and San Carlos-Guaymas). The price is around 15 dollars per person, not a luxury bus but it's just for one hour, plus other 5 dollars of the taxi.
