Great Snorkel Trip Best Crew
by cotaden
I have to say you should book a dive or snokel trip with the "Lobo Del Mar" group.
This is a family owned business made up of mostly transplanted Americans. Every one in the family has a job. From the smallest to the oldest. Belly dancers, dive masters, boat captains, and para-sailing instructors. Almost forgot, the have the best dinner cruise and, or, sunset cruise with all the margaritas you "should" drink. Each time we've gone out we've had the pleasure of the Dolphins visiting!
The Best Place to Dive/snorkel???
Bird Island. Check the pictures out! Bird Island. It is very close. Only 16 miles out from the Mayan Palace. The sea lions (2500 live here) are fantastic!
SCUBA
by mrandmrsdevlin
The SCUBA diving in Rocky Point is pretty horrible. This is where we went for our checkout dive and the conditions were horrible. It's so sandy there that the visibility is horrible if there is even the slightest storm.
There isn't much wildlife besides rays and a few fish to see, but the area is highly populated with shrimp and if you go during the right time of year you hear a constant clicking sound, which is them sending out a mating call!
Changes on the Malecon Plaza
by razorbacker
There have been a lot of changes to the Malecon waterfront promenade and the plaza over the past year or so. It's even more enjoyable and romantic than before. We just LOVE Puerto Penasco. If we were rich we'd have a home there. If you've never been, give it a whirl. If it's been awhile, WHAT are ya waiting for???!!! Buen viaje, amigos!
Rocky Point - 4 hours away from home!

"Look at that pool!"
This is the view of the pool from outside our hotel room which had this huge deck...amazing! They really did a good job building these hotels at Rocky Point, and we're so lucky we live just about 4 hours away!
"The twins love digging up the sand!"
Home of the best tacos!
by HispanicYob
"Tacos?"
There's an interesting story why I say it's "Home of the Best Tacos". We went out clubbing our first night there and we were so drunk we were really hungry. We found this stand near the bar that sold some of the best tacos ever! We scarved those down and man, things taste better when you're drunk. These were great!
"Getting there is half the fun!"
From Tuscon, Arizona, it's about 2-3 hours drive. From there border I think it was about an hour and a half or so (we went really fast). This picture here is of the border town we went through to get into Mexico ond on our way there. The drive won't impress you as the town isn't that great, naturally. After you leave the town it's nothing but arid desert until you reach Puerto Penasco. The highway from the border should take you straight there and you'll know once you're there, since you'll start seeing billboards advertising reality and beachfront properties.
"Avoid the spring break rush!"
We went in July so there's not THAT much people. I mean it's still pretty crowded but I'm sure for seasons like Spring Break it's overwhelming. Kick back and relax and soak in the sun here. It's plenty hot in summer. Hot and sticky. Bring plenty of sunscreen to protect your skin. There's nothing better then sharing a vacation with friends. We had a blast!
