San Carlos Plaza Hotel too pricey, not woth it
First the Pros: This hotel is rated GT. The lobby is really nice with an artificial water fall that is very relaxing. It has two restaurants. We ate at the one that is just by the lobby. It has a nice atmosphere and the breakfast is excellent. The menu for dinner or lunch lacks of the traditional Mexican style food. There's a jacuzzi in the pool area. However, the water temperature is just warm and you have to ask the staff to turn on the jet stream. The beach is nice with lots of very white sand. However once you go in the water, you'll discover that is full of rocks and no sand. They have a recreation room with different table games(pool, ping pong, etc.), but only the pool table was 100% functional. There were no balls for the ping pong table, The "futbolito" tables were broken.
Cons: OVERPRICED for the kind of rooms they have. We stayed in a Jr. Suite with balcony and full ocean view we payed about $250 a night (2 adults, 3 children). The beds were too firm for my taste. The TV seemed that has been there for more than 10 years: The picture was not clear, it had no inputs to connect your camera, sometimes we didn't have a signal (can you imagine what this was like with three children in a room and no TV?) Somebody left a tray with some food on the floor of the hallway and it stayed there for the full 4 days we stayed at the hotel. The doorman sometimes open the door for you and sometimes he just pretended he didn't see you. In a scale of 1-10: 5. Will I go back to stay at this hotel? NO. Will I recommend it? No.
