San Carlos Plaza: Nice spot on the Ocean
The hotel is a little dated, but it's located right on Catch 22 beach and has pretty nice ocean view rooms with a balcony. It is located near sand dunes which people like to ride 4-wheelers on. Some people found it anoying; i didn't really mind. You might look into renting one and try it yourself.
The hotel has a nice outdoor bar overlooking the ocean. Good to watch the sunset. There are two hotel restaurants; a pizza place (pretty good) and an italian place (Joey's Bistro) which i believe is a chain (also pretty good). There is also a buffet style breakfast every morning - never tried it. There's no shortage of elderly people at this hotel. They seem to come in on tour buses.
