Hotel Xalapa: Tired hotel, in need of some attention

Hotel Xalapa was recommended to us by my friend's local family. Sadly it is a perfect reason to take heed when locals recommend hotels in their own town, since they most likely will not have stayed there.

The hotel may have been great back in the day, but now, it is tired and in need of some tender attention. The rooms have a stale smell to them. The carpets are heavily worn, the beds are not as comfortable as they should be.

Top that off, I think my bed had bugs in it because the next day my legs were in bad shape.

Unique Quality: There is a business center and pool, but due to the mountain weather, the water may be a bit cool for most.
