It’s the cheapest option, I paid $60 (which is about USD 5.50) the night. It is a few blocks away from the ‘zócalo’ area, a 15-minute walk to the bus stations. It’s quite clean, although you may see roaches at their backyard… just at night, and only outside.
It includes free breakfast, just two slices of bread and some coffee. Theme: HostelComparison: least expensive

This is a beautiful hostel situated about 5 minutes walk from the centre. There are dorms and private rooms with a shared kitchen and all the usual facilities. Mostly importantly though there is a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere here.

This is what accommodation is all about. The Nameless Place (aka. Hostel) has everything a weary traveler could need and all for the spectacular price of 60 pesos ($6) a night. Be warned: it IS a hostel, so it's a bit shabby around the edges. However, it has a nice atmosphere, run by friendly people, and has a number of services that are conveniently cheap. There's a free breakfast and a laundry service (much needed after two weeks on the road), the rooms are spacious and comfortable and its in a convenient location just off the main street and a few minutes walk from some excellent restaurants and the zocalo. That said, the shower took almost half an hour to warm up, and the rooms weren't pretty to look at. But for $6, what more could you ask for?
Ask the owner about the unique plants he has planted around the courtyard. Who knows the truth of it, but he recounted a tale about escaping from the depths of the Guatemalan jungle with them with the authorities hot on his heels. Truth? That's for you to decide. Look for the doorway with the big yellow 'Hostel' sign above it.

I found this home rental through the Yucatan Today website and after our stay my only regret is that we could not stay longer. You can believe all of the pictures on their website at http://www.bestofyucatan.com/azul.html. The house is located in a working neighborhood within easy walking distance from Merida's main square. There isn't a reserved parking spot but we were able to make day trips each day and still park right across the street every time we returned. If you have to have all the hotel conveniences this may not be the place for you but if you want some extra room and a taste of living local I would highly recommend a stay here. John made our arrival and departure easy and gave us great information on local restaurants and attractions.
The pool, just a few steps outside the house, is secluded by the house and an approx. 15 foot tall wall. We used this pool more than we have ever used a hotel pool. The rooftop sitting area was a great place to read in the morning and to get a rooftop view of the city. The eat-in kitchen was well equipped, and there are several markets nearby. The wonderful dining room table made us wish we had friends to invite over for a meal. Leave a Comment

This is a wonderful place to stay in Merida. It is run be very friendly owners, who offer a very tasty 3-course breakfast. The rooms are spread across various courtyards and four levels. Once in the house, it is almost like a fairy tale castle, the setting and all the details of the interior design are extremely tastefully done. There is a relaxing and secluded pool, a rooftop terrace where you can sip great (value-for-money) cocktails, served by very friendly staff. Can be highly recommended. If you book online, there are discounts. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Calle 68 #495 x 59 y 57, , MERIDA 97000

We spent three nights in this quiet little B&B. Despite it being located just outside of Merida's historic limits, it was extremely convenient to all the sights. It was an easy walk to many restaurants, the main zocalo, many parks, and even the Paseo de Montejo. Our room was exquisitely designed and decorated by the owner, and the pool area was a refreshing welcome from the hot city streets. Cascadas is a garden oasis which makes you forget that you are in middle of a city. Leave a Comment

 | | | | Holiday Inn Merida Mexico: Nice way to spend HI reward points.

Stayed here my first and last nights in Yucatan. 10,000 HI points per reward night. The rooms were very clean and kept well. The desk staff and the bellmen were courteous. The bar area was a nice place to relax. There was a problem getting a taxi, and the concierge actually told me it would be easier to flag one down on the street. I left for the airport early, and they actually had to wake someone up to get my rental car keys out of the valet station. The exercise room had a poorly maintained treadmill, a non-functional stairmaster, and a decent set of free weights. The pool was well maintained. Other than those few problems, everything else was nice. Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Av. Colon 498, , Merida, YU 97127Directions: In the upscale hotel district off of Paseo Montejo - a 5 peso bus ticket , 30-40 peso taxi ride, or a 20-30 minute walk to the city center.

The hotel is located in the center of Merida. All sights and historical places are in walking distance. You can easily walk around the blocks to see the real life without any troubles. The people are ususally very friendly.
The rooms are excellent and equipped with AC as well as big windows to the inner courtyard. The hotel offers a pool, a restaurant and a huge patio. The staff is extremly friendly and very helpful. The ladies at the front desk are very talkative and eager to help you with everything. You can book excursions e.g. to the pyramids (like UXMAL & KABAH) around and to the flamingos at Celestun for a reasonable price and excellent guides. Leave a Comment

What can I say about Los Arcos B&B that hasn't been said over at TripAdivsor? Yeah, this is the #1 rated B&B in Merida on the TripAdvisor website with over 70 positive ratings and I couldn't even find it on this website?!? It is my mission to change this. The proprieter, originally from Virginia, converted this lovely colonial home into a showpiece of traditional archetecture from the area. The main house is like a museum of Spanish art. The two guest rooms are recent additions and have all the modern conveinces you would expect back in the states.
If you're looking for an intimate experience this is the place for you. Los Arcos has only 2 rooms so privacy is assured. David and Alberto do a fantastic job of making sure you're needs are taken care of. The breakfasts are fantastic! The pool is available 24 hours, as is the hot tub. The rooms are air conditioned and beautifully appointed. Wireless internet is available.
