A night in Merida

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 1, 2014

I spent a night in this hotel when we explored Yucatan on the way from Ruinas Uxmal to Ruinas Chichén-Itzá. We came to Merida in the second half of the day, took our accommodation and went to the excursion. I came back late in the evening, explored the hotel and its attractions. I would say it was one of the best hotels on our path between Mexico City and Cancun.
It located at the centre of Merida 20 minutes walk from the Zocalo.

You can watch my 4 min 00 sec Video Merida Hotel Hyatt out of my Youtube channel or here on VT.

Unique Quality: The spacious room features a separate sitting area, work desk with high-speed Internet, marble bath with plush robes and two double beds with soft cotton Blancos Covadonga linens. Deluxe amenities include satellite television and 24-hour room service.

Directions: You can watch my photo of Merida on the Google Earth according to the following coordinates 20° 59' 4.35" N 89° 37' 12.45" W or on my Google Earth Panoramio Hotel Hyatt Regency Merida.

Another 5 Star Hotel We Visited

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 20, 2004

The Hyatt is huge and offers all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. We had a late lunch in one of the restaurants there, Peregrina Bistro, and it was delicious. If you like a big hotel, this one looks great and has everything one might want or need. It is located near the center of Paseo de Montejo in the hotel zone - just across from the Fiesta Americana and the Holiday Inn. It takes a little longer to walk downtown than if you stay in El Centro but you can be there by taxi in 5 minutes.

Unique Quality: We visited this hotel only while we had a delicious seafood buffet in Peregrina Bistro, one of the restaurants in the Hyatt. The food was outstanding with many Yucatecan recipes. The service was excellent also.

Directions: Hotel Zone just off Paseo de Montejo
