Quirky Little Hostel

This is what accommodation is all about. The Nameless Place (aka. Hostel) has everything a weary traveler could need and all for the spectacular price of 60 pesos ($6) a night.

Be warned: it IS a hostel, so it's a bit shabby around the edges. However, it has a nice atmosphere, run by friendly people, and has a number of services that are conveniently cheap. There's a free breakfast and a laundry service (much needed after two weeks on the road), the rooms are spacious and comfortable and its in a convenient location just off the main street and a few minutes walk from some excellent restaurants and the zocalo.

That said, the shower took almost half an hour to warm up, and the rooms weren't pretty to look at. But for $6, what more could you ask for?

Unique Quality: Ask the owner about the unique plants he has planted around the courtyard. Who knows the truth of it, but he recounted a tale about escaping from the depths of the Guatemalan jungle with them with the authorities hot on his heels. Truth? That's for you to decide.

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average
