One of the few hostels that is quiet after 11pm, good location, secure. You even have the option of using all facilities after checking out for a fraction of the price. You're given a map of the town, list of things to do, bus schedules, day trips. Atmosphere is great too.
Unique Quality: Free salsa lessons, internet and breakfast (not that great though). Travel agency within with various cenote and day trips.
Directions: Merida has a grid like orientation where all the streets are sequentially numbered/named. All the even streets run south/north bound and the odd numbered streets run east/west bound. Hostel is 62 & 51 - about 15min walk from bus station
This is a beautiful hostel situated about 5 minutes walk from the centre.
There are dorms and private rooms with a shared kitchen and all the usual facilities.
Mostly importantly though there is a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere here.

Nomadas is an HI affiliated hostel with all the expected facilites. It has descent dorm rooms that are separate sex. The bathrooms are clean and the kitchen facilites are good. There is plenty of information out about the area (as there is plenty to do here). The owner is very helpful and speaks some english. Internet is available, although there is a nice internet cafe one or two blocks away on road towards the town center.
Unique Quality: Good location. There are markets close by and internet cafes. The hostel is only several blocks away from town.
It has a nice airy feel about it. There is a court yard with umbrellas and tables to enjoy a pleasant homecooked meal.
