Private homes: Vacation rentals

Most of the summer homes along the stretch from Progreso east are owned by residents of Merida. The families use the homes during holidays and then many are made available to rent for the rest of the year. There is something for everyone and most at very reasonable prices. Two rental companies that we and family used are Cyber Rentals and Vacation Rentals. Some of the communities along this stretch, besides Progreso, are Chicxulub, Uaymitun, San Bruno. We rented in Chicxulub.

Beautiful view.

Siesta INN: Off the beaten path

It was not right on the Malecon so people will miss it. It was down the road a bit. The walk to the beach was about a half a block.
Looking from the outside it does not look like much but the rooms were spacious. The pools were nice. They cleaned our room daily. We had a kitchen, a balcony, a hammock outside the bedroom door.
The owner is American so she speaks english.

There is an outside pool and and inside pool so if one is busy the other is usually not.
The price for these suite was $39.00 a night!
That is for a kitchen with a fridge, hot plate, toaster oven, table, closet, bedroom with two full beds, air, bath with shower, tv with a few local channels. No phone.
