 | Zacatecas Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 10 | | It has got dorm beds, a big terrace on the roof from where you have a great view, a little living area down by the kitchen, and you can prepare your own meals. This hostel is really neat, run by some very nice people, and it´s predestined for meeting travellers from all over the world. You feel like a big family, sometimes the owners just invite their guests to eat with them, and they are likely to take you to places or go out with you. I stayed at this small and nice hotel. Very well located in front of the main plaza and close to the cathedral. With great silent rooms, this hotel housed first the Spanish consulate and then the main office of the Inquisition. Leave a Comment |

It used to be a "Plaza de Torros" (bullfighting arena), now there's a hotel built around the square. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelComparison: most expensive |
The hotel calls to be a hostel but it's a hotel. I like it because it has all the facilities and reminds you of those old spanish houses built by indigenous, it's worth the visit and less expensive than the Quinta and Meson de Jobito. It's located in downtown and gives you room for a visit. I choose this one because it's in the range of price of Don Migles, around 60 or 70 USD per night, bargain the price... The owner let me see the place and I liked it for my family to stay but we ended using Don Miguel because it was closer to my parents house and has a decent size parking.. You can also use Villa Colonial but it's more for backpackers.. The hotel has a kind receptionist, they answered my email right away and everything was clean, had windows and I felt ok. Furnishing is the tipical modern rough stuff we use in some of our mexican houses... I would probably ask for more for a 70 usd hotel, but you know what, from everything I have seen there, maybe for the less than 100 usd hotels in downtown, this is just fine.
This is about an old house fully restored, had a very nice patio and a great location if you are walking, it's right half block from cathedral... Leave a Comment |

Hostal Villa Colonial is an HI-affiliated hostel in the heart of Zacateca's centro historico. Located at the corner of Primero de Mayo and Callejon de Monoprieto, it is easiest to get there by heading up Aguascalientes (from Tacuba) and then turning left. The hostel is housed in a historic mansion, and features a variety of dorm rooms (all with four beds, some with attached bath) and private rooms (again, some with attached bath), as well as two common kitchens and a beautiful rooftop patio with panoramic views of the town and the Cathedral. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and know all the guests by name; they are also helpful and can answer all of your questions. I would recommend this hostel to anyone seeking budget accommodation in Zacatecas. Make sure to bring a lock, as the dorm room doors don't have locks (so you need to keep your stuff in a locker), and anyone with mobility issues should book by phone to ensure you're not in a bunk bed (as there aren't ladders to reach the top bunks). I paid approximately 100 pesos ($10 US/CAD) per night in a dorm room. Leave a Comment |

It is called a hostal, but this is a very nice hotel. It is in the historic center, close to everything. An old building with a lot of character, huge rooms very comfortable and clean and a good price. Highly recommended. 400 pesos split between two people about 18$ each.
