Originally from Venezuela, Isabel Lange has created a gorgeous inn that she co-runs with her daughter, Albertina. Both speak excellent English. She has retained the original colonial characteristics of the property, adding her elegant touch to the decor with items gathered from a life as a diplomant, sprinkled with Mexican artwork and handicraft. The inn is on property that was once a walnut orchard of the nearby historic convent.
La Siranda is a colonial building from the 18th century, and therefore the rooms tend to be dark, as well as can be chilly, especially in the winter season. However, I am sure these rooms would be a cool refuge during hot weather, which tends to be around May in Patzcuaro. There is central heating, but even though we had it turned up all the way, I still felt a slight chill, but not enough to disuade me from coming back. The beds are comfortable American spring mattresses, complete with feather pillows and down comforters, and the rooms are HUGE. We stayed in a smaller suite, The Naranja (Orange) Suite, and I approximate it to be about 600 sq feet. The dining room has a small lounge for relaxing, as well as the reception office. The decor of the inn is very tasteful and chic, with just enough Mexican to remind you where you are. There is a lovely outdoor terrace, and as well as Isabel is going to install a hot tub in the old water cistern for the orchard. I cannot say enough about Isabel and her staff. You feel like you are not a hotel guest, but visiting your wealthy well-travelled aunt, and she is always trying to ensure you are having a good time. She employs a driver named Nacho (Ignacio) who can take you anywhere you want. He speaks little english, but is extremely professional and safe. The rates include a gourmet Mexican breakfast, plus dinners are offered, you must reserve the night before. Everything everyone says is true. This place is heaven on earth. Ricardo Amuleto has created a rustic chic paradise on a hillside overlooking Bahia Zihuatanejo, just outside of town. A taxi to and from town will cost about $5.00 US, but in exchange you get seclusion and privacy. I would recommend taking a flashlight as the lighting is fairly dim around the property in the evenings, and you wouldn't want to take a header.
Puhleeese do yourself a favor and spring for a plunge pool suite. If air conditioning is not an issue for you, the ultra luxurious open-air palapa suite is the ultimate. There are only 6 rooms in the hotel, and staying there, you feel like you are hanging out with friends, rather than at a hotel. The rooms are decorated in rustic-chic, plus you get all the water and sodas you can drink for free, besides a huge Mexican or American-style breakfast. The open-air rainwater showers overlooking the bay will have you the cleanest person in Mexico. One word about the open-air concept: if you are at all squeamish about bugs or wildlife, you may not want to stay here. We found a bat clinging under the eaves of our suite one night, as well as a tiny frog in our shower. We also left an unrinsed pop can on a table, and a plethora of tiny ants appeared the next morning. You may find the occaisional tiny centipede on the bathroom floor, plus there are little geckos as well. These things don't bother us, but may bother others. This place is pricey, but the cost of my totally type-A husband being the most relaxed I have seen him in my whole life: PRICELESS. I do not recommend trying to walk anywhere as the road is extremely steep, plus there are no shoulders or sidewalks on the road.Website: www.amuleto.net

Colonia Roma is well served by public transportation , many bus routes dissect the district, and 5 or 6 stations of the vast Metro system are within a short walk. Centrally located in the city, popular tourist destinations are within easy reach. a relatively calm district sprinkled with, wide tree-lined boulevards, parks and monuments. Although many of the large homes in the district have been converted for use as offices, restaurants and art galleries - the area is still, primarily, residential.. Sheraton Acapulco by benidormone I had a wonderful time at the hotel.Everything was perfect. The only thing I didn't like was that it is so far from the city center. You always had to take a taxi because it was much to far to walk.
The hotel has the best view, especially at night it is stunning. The swimmingpool was great. There was even a private beach.

by micas_pt If you are travelling to some beach destiny in Mexico you should consider an all-inclusive resort, mainly if you intend to stay on the beach the whole day long or just stay nearby, between swimming pool and sports allowed at resort. We stayed at Bahia-Principe resort, which has 2 hotels - Tulum and Akumal. Both look the same, although my room was at the Tulum. It's a nice, comfortable resort with plenty of space for everybody, both in the beach, restaurants and other infrastructures. Theme: Hotel

If you're looking for a quiet, clean and comfortable hotel at a reasonable price and in a great location in Mexico City, the New York is hard to beat. The rooms might be a bit on the small side but they are air-conditioned, they all have television, telephones and a safe for your valuables (most important!). Security is good around the clock. The hotel breakfast is pretty ordinary but there are plenty of little local restaurants where you can get a more interesting breakfast at a very reasonable rate. I'd certainly stay here again.
Where the New York really earns its stars is in its location. It's very, very central - just a few minutes from the Plaza de la Republica, an easy walk to the Alameda and historic centre of the city and no more than a pleasant evening stroll to the Zona Rosa if you're looking for somewhere elegant for dinner. And don't forget to sample a crab or seafood cocktail from the seafood street stand just around the corner on Emparan - they serve hundreds of these every day to people who come from all over the city and they are excellent! leyle Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Edison 45, Col Tabacalera, Mexico City 06030Phone: +52 55 228 9918Directions: Downtown - easy walking distance from the Alameda and the Zocalo, just a bit further to the Plaza de la Republica

Cancun Hilton by Angelamtp1 I wish I had stayed here really, the hotel is amazing, clean, huge, and the beach infront is perfect, come places in Cancun can have reef, no fun for swimming, The Hilton has a great spa, gym, cafes, etc.
We spent New Years Eve on the beach here, and there was no one else, we had it all to ourselves, the staff at the Hilton brought us a bottle of champagne free of charge, very nice... Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Cancun

This middle class hotel for Mexico City gives you the feel of staying someplace more expensive. The decor is still from the 70's, but the ultra clean rooms and comfortable beds, along with air-conditioning, make up for it. The service is excellent, with friendly hotel personel.
The rooms were large and really clean. The maids were extremely helpful and the beds comfortable. There is a small restaurant on premises, which is nice, but a little pricey. If you can go someplace else, do. The only warning I would have for this hotel is DO NOT take the tourist taxis as they are more expensive. Either rely on the subway or waive a taxi down as long as there are 2 of you travelling together.
