Becky_A.'s new Birmingham Page
Alabama, Birmingham in particular, get a bum rap regarding racism and prejudice. I have lived here most of my life and can honestly say that I have seen many places in the world where people are much less tolerant. Birmingham is a beautiful city. The people are extremely friendly and always willing to help. It isn't exactly a hotbed of cultural events, but we have the B'ham Museum of Art, the Civil Rights Institute and museum, the McWane Center (including Imax theatre), the historic Alabama Theatre, Oak Mountain State Park, and plenty of bars and clubs in which to party. Southern cooking is something else you shouldn't miss.
