Just keep it cool-every floor it's ice making mach
Coming to Birmingham this weekend and need advice on where to stay. Have reservations at Days Inn on 11th Court West near Legion Field. Heard warnings about staying away from North and West Birmingham. Is this hotel in a decent area or should I stay elsewhere? Thanks.
might be a good idea to stay at the hotel where your reservations are for. :)
I personaly wouldn't stay in that area, safer community over the mountain or closer to the hoover area.

Thanks for the advice. Already changed my reservations to the Comfort Inn - Vestavia Hills. hope that's a better choice.
That's a better choice. I've gotten GREAT deals through Priceline at the Tutwiler downtown. Room rate is usually like $150. I've never paid more than $50 a night. Nice place. Safe area. Parking's bad, though.
Vestavia is perfectly safe, though.
Visit the Hospital of University of Alabama in Birminham maybe one of the best sites for the medical care, specially the heart surgery and more partucular mention of the Dr john W Kisrklin. ¡Thanks him ! The humanistic and extremely kind of the people to the pacients and their relatives.
the 16 th street baptist church was bombed by members of the klu klux klan on september 15 th 1963. four young african-american girls were killed in the bombing and several others injured. this bombing outraged the nation and contributed to the passage of the 1964 civil rights act. today the 16 th ave. baptist church is open for tours. for those interested in civil rights history the 16 th street baptist church is an important site to visit.
