I suggest using Young's Realty when you go down to stay in Gulf Shores. They have different types of accomodations all along the beach and inland. They have everything from condos, hotels, houses, etc.
Go to www.youngsrealty.com to look through all their different places. There are pictures and descriptions for each place, you can book it online, and it tells you their availability. If you are looking for something off-season, their prices are significantly lower. The place that we stayed every year was Island Shores. I would highly recommend it!
Prices are listed on the website. Wonderful views of the Gulf, clean, and offices close by if you need help.
The condos that we stayed at (Island Shores) we always taken care of and provide plenty of space for up to 8 people or more.
Packing List
by jtb2inky
My packing rules for travel in North America are not much different than for travel in Europe. Namely - Pack light! The fact that you will probably be traveling by car means that you could get away with a bit more stuff. Still, if you can avoid hauling more pounds or kilos than necessary, do it. One small bag per person at the most, or one big bag for several people. Pack light. One good pair of shoes should do. Don't worry about bringing the workout shoes or clothes, you will have a workout enough walking through the cities of North America each day. And besides, you're on vacation! A couple pair of pants, 2-3 shirts, and 1 light sweater will suffice for a two-week trip. Plan on washing your clothes 1-2 times on your trip. Bring a jacket, which can double as a rain coat - particularly if in the Pacific Northwest. The ONE pair of shoes that you bring should be all weather, durable, and comfortable. Bring just the necessities. Most hotels and B&B have hair dryers. Ask ahead of time just to be sure. Pharmacies abound throughout North America, so there is no need to bring the whole emergency medical-care kit. Don't skimp here. Bring a small camera and lots of film. Your pictures will tell your tale later. Besides, you need to have pictures to build your VT pages! If you are up to it, bring a small video camera. Don't worry about looking too much like a tourist. There are times to bring a camera with you (such as visiting the Grand Canyon) and times to leave it back in the hotel (such as going to the theater or to a nice restaurant). There are wonderful places to camp in the great outdoors throughout Canada and the USA. In fact, if you neglect to spend some time camping in the National Parks of these two countries - you have missed a big part of what this place is all about. Tents can be rented if you are traveling from abroad. On a road trip you should pack the tent in the truck.
Welcome to the Happiest Place...

Welcome to the Happiest Place on Earth - yes, the Walt Disney World here in sunny ORLANDO, FLORIDA, U.S.A.!
My friends had told me once that I needed only one week to finish visiting all these theme parks in Orlando. I really wish I could strangle them... but then... I can't. Let's just say that I needed MORE THAN 9 days to finish everything here... and it was at such a frantic pace.
Sigh. So theme park junkies like myself would need 2 weeks to comb through this whole area with a fine tooth comb - and at a more leisurely pace. :-))))
I had no chance to even see the other major tourist attractions outside of Walt Disney World.... I'd wanted to visit the other parts of the city so badly - but realized that I've run out of vacation time. :-(((( So, I've told myself to come back again in the near future.
If you have some time to spare, you must check out some of the Disney theme park hotels. They are absolutely out of this world! We spent half a day just hotel-hopping. The Grand Floridian Resort (where we chose to have a Disney theme breakfast one morning) was soooo beautiful.
Please check my ORLANDO travel page cum travelogues for more details.

explore the beautiful state of NEVADA, U.S.A. Greetings from the home of adventure and glitzy entertainment!
There are many things to see and do here (besides gambling, that is)... If you're a visitor to the United States, I can't think of a better recommendation than to advice you to rent a car upon your arrival and drive.... drive.... DRIVE! Why? Well, en route to wherever you're heading, you'd be able to marvel at some really spectacular scenery and if you're game enough, head to some of the world's most beautiful national parks located right here in NEVADA.
If you're into adventure sports, I dare you to try a challenging climb at the Red Rock Canyon or drive to the scenic (wow!!!!) Valley of Fire. How about camping or try some hiking over at the Grand Canyon National Park?
If you aren't into such sportive activities, you can also choose to relax in one of the numerous world-class (not to mention, famous) hotels here... yes, LAS VEGAS included. :-))
I hope you'd have a great time sightseeing in this lovely state... but pleeeeease, if you can... DON'T COME IN JULY/AUGUST! Very, very, very HOT!!! (Ouch). On some days, it was over 40 degrees Celcius (unbelievable)... and I almost fainted from heatstroke.
O.K.... don't laugh. I'm much wiser now and if I go back to NEVADA again, I'm certainly not choosing July and August months to visit.
For more info about my trip, please click onto this link and it'd bring you straight to my NEVADA travel page. Merci...

visit the glittering casino city of LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, U.S.A....
Here's a glimpse of the ultra-ritzy stretch of road known popularly as 'The Strip'. Enjoy! Yes, LAS VEGAS is a city that NEVER sleeps. Well, neither did I. :-((( I barely could squeeze in 3 hours' of sleep per night during my 3-day sojourn in this glittering casino city. I watched great shows (the 'Cirque de Soleil' is absolutely tops!), gazed at the authentic masterpieces, bumped into Pamela Anderson (well, I did not exactly BUMP into her but had to climb on top of a chair to catch a glimpse of this American icon!), gorged on those excellent food they call 'buffets', spent some time spoiling myself at a spa AND shopped till I literally needed help to carry my shopping bags back to the hotel (sheepish grin...).... Oh, and I even made SOME MONEY at the casino too! :-)) Yeah, stepping into this high-voltage city is like entering a movie set that spells GLAMOR and GLITZ of an unbelievably grandiose nature, where the scale of most hotels here are sooo unreal and the lavishness of the decor incomparable.
This is all too surreal for me. Or maybe I'm a real country bumpkin, ya know? Oh well....
Walking along THE Strip, a 5.6KM long stretch on Las Vegas Boulevard near McCarran International Airport, was also an exciting experience for me. Interested to know more??
Please Feel free to browse through my LAS VEGAS travel page for more details.... Merci!

Sorry I do not, I have been going to gulf shores for years, usually book through Brett Robinson for a condo, but I am almost sure have to be 21, or be accompanied by an adult.Good luck though.
Honeymoon

My fiance and I are getting married September 30, 2006. He is a huge nascar and for part of our honeymoon, we are going to Talladega Superspeedway for the truck race on 10/7/06 and the cup race on 10/8/06... Since we are already gonna be in AL, we are talking about heading down to Gulf Shores / Mobile. My question is to how everything has been rebuilt since Hurricane Katrina... Are there still things to do and is the beach nice or is it still very evident that a hurricane came through a year ago? Also, if you could give advice as to what might be good tourist attractions especially for newlyweds that would be great, as well as good hotels... Thank you in advance for responding to my question... Looking forward to hearing what you have to say....

Congratulations!! Yes, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are up and running!! We just got back a couple of weeks ago. Overall, the restoration is probably 80%. On the beach, it's gorgeous. No signs of a hurricane. Majority of the hotels/motels are up and running. There are still some condos that are being rebuilt. But nothing that would spoil your trip. We were pleasantly surprised that the restuarants looked like business as usual and most of the gift shops looked as if a hurricane had never hit.
The only advice I give is the AVOID the Sleep Inn on Orange Beach. It was horrible!! Go down and have a great trip!! I don't think you'll regret it!
