Super 8: Nice Budget Motel in Mobile

by Basaic

This motel has a few nice extras like a small refrigerator and a microwave. Motel seemed fairly new and everything was in good repair. The girl behind the desk and the wife of the owner were nice; the owner himself acceptable. Breakfast was what you expect for a Super 8. Wi-fi worked well. A good deal for those budget minded. $62 as of April 2011.

Days Inn: Nice Budget Motel in Mobile

by Basaic

This motel has a few nice extras like a small refrigerator and a microwave. Motel seemed fairly new and everything was in good repair. The staff was acceptable. Breakfast was what you expect for a Days Inn. Wi-fi worked well. A good deal for those budget minded; but I preferred the Super 8. $65 as of April 2011.

Best Value Inn: Not the Best Choice in Monroeville

by Basaic

Okay, it was my fault I stayed here but it was indirectly caused by VT. I could have stayed at the Days Inn which I knew was pretty nice but I wanted another motel to write for this page. Bad choice. The facilities were older and had definitely seen better days. Not the cleanest either. The breakfast was substandard and they were out of coffee. Stay elsewhere.

Eastern Shore Motel: Adequate Motel in Daphne

by Basaic

This motel had a few extras like a microwave and a refrigerator; but there was nothing to raise it above average. The ammenities appeared a little old but everything worked. I would probably stay somewhere else next visit. Fairly cheap because I had a coupon.

The Motel Formerly Known as the Days Inn: Motel in Search of an Identity in Brewton

by Basaic

The Days Inn Brewton has divorced itself from Wyndham. They removed the sign out front; but the receipt still says Days Inn as does the information book in the rooms. The key card said Ramada Inn. The desk clerk, referred to the motel as The Motel Formerly Known as the Days Inn. The management was looking for another chain to affiliate with but had not found one yet.

The first room they gave me I refused because the deadbolt did not work and the doorknob was very loose. The second room was acceptable but not much more. Next time I will go elsewhere.

Hampton Inn: Much Better Accomodations

by msbrandysue

Hampton Inn is a popular choice for many business people, and I hear they fill up fast. However, I've never been turned downby one. Their rooms cost about $100 with the destination being the deciding factor. On my travels I usually stay just outside of big cities and that leads to a $100-120 hotel stay. If you find a smaller town they are cheaper. Just depends.

However, a stay gets you cable tv, free wireless internet, and a hot breakfast until 10am, and free coffee 24 hours a day. On week days you also get a complimentary USA Weekly I think.

I've enjoyed my stays here each time.

Some also have a small workroom and pool.

Macon Motel: Avoid This Motel in Tuskegee

by Basaic

This place is definitely substandard. The facilities are limited and not in good repair. The office doubles as a small store selling alcohol so the neighbors sometimes get loud. The place was not overly clean either.

Broken toilet and towel bar. Very limited hot water. Stains on the rug. Drunks nearby.

Best Western - Mountain Brook: Another Nice Motel in Birmingham

by Basaic

The Best Western - Mountain Brook is a nice motel in Birmingham on US Highway 280. It is a little more expensive but has very nice facilities to include a gym/spa.

Days Inn-Monroeville: Good Quality Accomodations in Monroeville

by Basaic

The Days Inn in Monroeville has 63 rooms. The outside looks pretty nice and the rooms were clean and serviceable. All rooms have free High-speed Internet access, microwaves, refrigerators, and hair dryers. The staff was friendly and efficient. Nearby restaurants include: David’s Catfish House; Old Mexico; China Star; Courthouse Café; City Café; and the Mockingbird Grill.

Amenities include a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and spa tub. Fax and photocopy services are available at the front desk. A complimentary Continental breakfast is offered each morning.

Travelodge: Disgusting, Horrible Night/Morning of Sleep

by msbrandysue

I tried.....my hardest not to stay here. We had stopped and tried really hard to find a place to stop but everywhere was full. So, my dad wanted to stop here (and I think it was like 4-5am) and were so exhausted.

The room was dirty and gross. Now, yes, I'm used to staying in $250-$300 rooms so I have a bit of a bias but it really was gross. Anyways, I would try my best not to stay here if I were you but....to each their own!

Even the clothes rack was installed crooked.
