Malaga Inn: Malaga Inn - Much Better than it sounds...
Satisfaction:

If you can stay in the old part of this hotel, DO. If you are forced to be in the newer portion, I probably WOULDN'T. The room I was in had hardwood floors, a high king size bed, probably 12 foot windows and 14 foot ceilings (or at least it seemed like it anyway). To get out to my personal front balcony, I lifted the windows. Everyone was nice and the maid service was the best I've ever had. There was a garden area in the middle of the hotel with a fountain which was nice. It would have been nicer if it wasn't the middle of January and COLD. President Reagan stayed here at one time as have other well known people. It is not a huge inn. But it is an old inn, except for the new rooms. My friend was in one of the new rooms and it did not have 14 foot ceilings, 12 foot windows, a front balcony, or even wood floors. The front staff was very nice and lowly little old me was made to feel like an absolute queen. I definitely recommend this place if you can stay in the original building! Lastly, the breakfast did leave something to be desired, but it is a relatively small place, so don't expect a full menu.
Very close to downtown Mobile, and the trolley that will take you around Mobile does have a stop right outside. Walkable distance to Mardi Gras Museum, the Convention Center and the aquarium.
