While driving in Montgomery, it's easy to spot the town's love of College Football.
Alabama and Auburn are the main schools in Alabama, and Montgomery is a good halfway point between the two. If you are there during the fall on a saturday be prepard for many different forms of people showing their pride.
A very normal salutation in the area is based upon which school holds your alliegence. War Eagle! for Auburn or Roll Tide for Alabama.
this beautiful beaux-arts home was built by moses sable in 1906. the state of alabama purchased the home in 1911 for the residence of the governor. this home served as the governor's mansion from 1911 to 1950. the first governor's mansion is open for tours. see the attached website for more information.
