A Trolley Passes the State Capitol
I visited the Montgomery Zoo because my friend volunteered at the bird area. He brought several of us in for free one day to see the birds and some of the impressive cats. The zoo is primarily organized by continent with a separate bird area and lake.
The Montgomery Zoo was created in 1920 and moved to its current location in 1931.
Entrance is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
This is a beautifully restored Union Station that now houses the Montgomery Visitor Center. It was built in 1898 and reflects the magnitude of how important this station must have been to Montgomery during the turn of the century. It has a wonderful staff of people who are so willing to make sure you see everything Montgomery has to offer. It has a little gift shop and plus the present a little movie in the back on the history of Montgomery and has some wonderful displays in the lobby to see too!
