Description: Two-part Russell Cave geology diagram. Illustration at top depicts a collapsed tunnel roof opening in a hillside which exposed the tunnel carrying water deeper underground, c8,000 BC. Below, the illustration shows the results of more rock falls that raised a portion of the tunnel above water level creating a habitat for humans as early as 7,000 BC. This part of the diagram is drawn to illustrate the cave entrance, c1994.
