Very Nice Value

Just spent a week here on business (Jan 2012) and was quite impressed. Another website (Trip Advisor) has it ranked number 1 in Anchorage and I'd say they weren't far off. I still would vote the Captain Cook #1 in my book.
You're all familiar with Embassy Suites business model - an all suite Hilton hotel with free breakfast and a free couple of drinks in the evening. It is all of that but done with a quality I wasn't expecting. Built about a year ago.
Nice pool, full service restaurant and bar, free shuttle van, fitness center (small but well equipped).
If you are new to Anchorage and want to stroll around downtown , you'll have to rent a car or take the shuttle as it is away from downtown. Midtown we call it - about half way between the airport and downtown.
Guests were a mix of families and business folks. Kids enjoyed the pool and the grown ups the bar area.

Unique Quality: I was there on business and had a lot of last minute meeting room needs come up. Even tho they were full, they scrambled and found us a small board room at a modest price.
