We chose the Ramada on 3rd because of the free airport shuttle, since our flight was getting in at midnight and we didn't want to have to worry about getting a cab. Within short order, the shuttle van had found us and, after picking up other passengers at the other terminal, we were on our way to the hotel.
The desk staff was friendly and courteous, and quickly took care of check-in. Our room faced the water, where we could see Mt. Susitna, as well as a trainyard. Quieter than in the front though.
The room itself was clean and well-kept, with Alaskan themed decor (moose lamp, etc), and a bargain at $63/night Internet rate.
Downstairs, free Internet access was available off the lobby 24/7 as well as the wonderful breakfast buffet (see below). We were also able to leave our bags as we set off to explore the downtown area (easily walkable) the next morning. The staff was also kind enough to drive us to another hotel later that day, where our cruise ship bus to Whittier was picking us up.
The breakfast buffet is outstanding! This is not your ordinary continental breakfast. In addition to the requisite cold cereals, pastries, coffee and fruit, there were make-your-own waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and other goodies which made this the best free hotel breakfast I've ever had!
