To camp at the Buskin River Campground it costs $10 per campsite or vehicle. There isn't any showers or sinks. There are 2 outhouse style toilets. One is located in Aurey Park about half way to the beach and the other is located in the parking area near the beach. Keep a clean camp as there are Kodiak Bears spotted in the area from time to time. I've never actually camped here myself....it's only a few miles from my house so I usually just go home. The Alaska State Park Annual Camping pass that used to cost $100 is being discontinued this year!!!!! A real bummer for people that use the Alaska State Park system alot!
I've never stayed at the Buskin River Inn but I've eaten at the Eagle's Nest Restaurant (located inside) a few times. The hotel is a very well maintained building with all the services that you will need. It is billed as Kodiak's Finest, full-service hotel featuring 50 rooms - Jacuzzi Suites - Business Class Rooms - Banquet facilities - Adjacent to the airport on the scenic Buskin River! At times they have had regular visits from bears fishing in the river right outside the restaurant!!! The hotel is located right behind this Welcome to Kodiak sign.....I don't have an actual photo of the hotel.
It is located just a couple of minutes walk from the airport terminal. It would be a 45 minute walk to get to the mouth of the Buskin from here but only 30 feet to the actual river and fishing!!
