While we were in Chicken, we rented a room in the Chicken Roost which is located in the campground at the Chicken Gold Camp. We had a tent and would have camped, but we got a bit wet kayaking and it was kind of cold at night so we splurged. But the campground was nice and had a seperate tenting area in the woods. The campground had washrooms/showers and supplied firewood.
A nice quiet campground with some great full time campers. Fun place with lots to do like gold panning.
Had a "clucking" good night in Chicken with the northern lights dancing and swirling overhead. I stayed in one of the rooms in the Chicken Coop at the Chicken Gold Camp and was very cozy. The night was so quiet and peaceful, except for one blast from the Chicken cannon at the bar that woke me. Fortunately, I had already experienced the cannon so wasn't too startled. What a hoot...er...cluck! In the morning, a refreshing shower, latte & delicious blueberry waffle, some gold panning and a tour of the Pedro Dredge before hitting the "Top of the World" Hwy for Dawson. A very fun visit, but I didn't see any chickens...a lot of ducks, but NO chickens!
