 I have seen mixed reviews about this motel, especially its location, so here is our experience. The location is on a side street, next to the Aspen Hotel, half a block from a showgirls place, a block from a huge Fred Meyers supermarket and gas station, and very close to the airport and the highway. We didn't see anyone outside of the showgirls place and were not bothered by it being there. Maybe we just got lucky, but we heard one plane very close around 11 pm and no other planes at night. The owner confirmed that they do not usually hear planes at night, possibly due to change of flight patterns. We got a room on the right side of the building since the left side looks towards the highway. Anyway, we had a quiet night. The room was good for 2 people (small, but not tiny), clean, with a queen bed, side table, desk, and tv, and the rate included continental breakfast. The carpet looks old, but everything else seems updated. The bathroom was nice - big, with a bathtub, and not outdated. The breakfast included juice, coffee, tea, muffins, and danishes. The owners are very nice, helpful, and seem knowledgeable about the area. They allow people to use the refrigerator, microwave, and computer with high speed internet for free. So, I am glad we gave this motel a chance and I am glad we didn't hear planes. It was a lot cheaper than other hotels and B&B's in Fairbanks that I researched and I am glad I found it.
