Spacious room with balcony and seaview

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 15, 2015

We have a quiet drive from Anchorage to Homer, but stops many times along the way. The scenery in this road is awesome, just a few miles from Anchorage is a very scenic drive till in Kenai Peninsula.

And then the view change dramatically when we took the road to Homer. We know that Homer is a harbour town, this place remind me in Vancouver Island when we drove to the town called Tofino very pretty place

We have all our accommodations book in this trip. Traveling in Alaska is not really for a budget traveler, accommodations are quite expensive or else camping is an option. But camping is not really our type of thing when travelling outside Europe.

Searching for inexpensive place to stay was not very easy, in some areas are so expensive such as this hotoel. Homer is a fishing port area and very popular for visitors which has interest or hobby in fishing, hotels are busy all year round that's why is hard to find a budget place to stay. This was apparently the cheapest one we've found, but is okay we're here for a night only.

Arrived in the afternoon the first thing I notice is the motel office which were not very impressive. The boat docked infront which we hardly see the small office. It was indeed small inside but the lady was so friendly. During the booking to this hotel they charged the room immediately to our credit card by using booking website.

This room is not cancelable, once booked you stick to it. We prefer a booking that can be cancel anytime. But searching to affordable place to stay seem not much of a choice in Homer

The location of the hotel is very nice, the sea is right beyond, our room window at the back is facing to the sea with a mountain backdrop. Room were very spacious with two beds, fridge, microwave and tv. Carpet room and the bathroom is clean and big enough. Each room has a balcony which all have seaviews and mountain backdrop

The town center is very short drive and so as the historic old town, walkable might be but we have a car, so we went with a car. No breakfast available in the motel but there is a coffee maker in room, to start in the morning. Restaurant is just a few meters away. We're very satisfied during our stay and for the price of this room is well worth it!

Unique Quality: Balcony views are awesome, it is nice to have a balcony in your own room. The lady in the reception was very friendly
