Family Lodging in Juneau
My family of 5 adults (2 sisters and spouses and 80 year old mother!) stayed in Junea at the Driftwood Lodge May 1 to the 4, 2008. There was a seperate bedroom, an adjoining semi private room with 2 twin beds and a very comfy, large couch (or a roll away bed-your choice) in the living area. It also had a kitchenette in the hall from the living area to the back bedrooms and bathroom complete with refrigerator, microwave, sink, and utensils/dishes. There is enough room in the living area for a table and chairs, large sofa, occasional chair, and TV. The Lodge has outside entrance rooms in a quiet area of town but within 5 blocks of the harbor and downtown-easily walkable. The room was perfect for us and would be great for a family and was only $100/night! The lodge was very clean and comfortable with linens and towels in good condition although a bit lacking in the decor. There is a terrific breakfast and lunch restaurant next door with a convenience store (liquor/sundries/some grocery items) also in the parking lot. It is 1/2 block from the Alaska State Museum. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the airport and ferry terminals at any hour of the day or night. Terrific place at a terrific price!
