Not the Buskin anymore

The Buskin River Inn so no longer, as of 10/01/2005 the Buskin River Inn has become the Comfort Inn Kodiak. With a 1.6 million dollar renovation the Comfort Inn Kodiak is the place to stay. The only thing that remains the same is the location.

Good acommodations

I stayed here in November of 2004. I was there vertually by myself. The morning after I arrived I meet one otherguest staying at the Inn. He was a trech going to the Rocket launch site. The Inn served breakfast in the restaurant and complimentary coffee and contenental breakfast in the lobby. I enjoyed my stay there upon arriving and again the day before I left for Anchorage. Very Pleasant small Inn. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Unique Quality: Quite and close to Kodiak Airport.

Formerly known at the Buskin Inn

Located right at the airport and recently renovated I found the Comfort Inn a pleasant spot to spend the night. 50 rooms with a restaurant and bar. My room was standard fare but clean and decent sized with a small fridge. You can walk to and from the airport so it is very handy for those early morning departures or late night arrivals.

The hotel and airport are 4.4 miles from town so it can be a hassle getting around if you make it your base and don't rent a car.

The restaurant just reopened (August 07) and is rapidly gaining an excellent reputation as a dinner destination. The hotel offers a continental breakfast that was a little disappointing but free.

Convienent to the Airport

The Buskin River Inn is located outside of town, near the Buskin River. Convienent to the airport, you would need transportation into town (5 miles). The BRI is fairly close to the trailhead of Barometer Mountain, a challenging hike.
